Welcome to Kai Tana, a cozy 2-bedroom beachfront cottage in sunny Rum Point.

Surrounded by mature palms and casuarina trees, Kai Tana offers a serene escape on a wide sandy beach with cozy accommodations for couples, honeymooners, or small families.

The beach here is very sandy plus the reef-protected waters makefor excellent snorkeling just off the backyard. Although barefoot water entry is tempting, water shoes are recommended to protect against foot injuries. Sunset walks along the shoreline in either direction are a must!

Inside, the oceanfront living area provides all the comforts of home including tall windows that flood the interiors with natural light and stunning far-from-home ocean views. Air conditioning, complimentary wifi, and an HD cable television will keep you cool and connected during your stay.

The home's kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including a drip coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. All cookware, dinnerware, glassware, and flatware are provided. The home features a formal dining table in the living area and a patio dining table for alfresco dinners under the stars. A charcoal grill is also provided for surf and turf cookouts by the sea.

The beachside patio is your slice of paradise to soak up the sun and spellbinding views. A palm-shaded hammock sits on the beach beckoning daydreamers for lazy days by the ocean.

The home is licensed by the Department of Tourism to sleep 4 guests across two bedrooms.

***Getting Around***
A rental car is highly recommended. Taxi cabs are unreliable and expensive outside of town and Seven Mile Beach. Plus, there is no Uber or Lyft on the island. We recommend Budget Cayman, Avis, or Marshalls for rental cars. After booking, confirmed guests will receive a promo code for 20% off a rental car with Budget Cayman.

***Villa Cleaning & Sanitation***
All villas are cleaned and sanitized before each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products. Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.

***Beach Notes***
All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high watermark. Be advised, the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images displayed due to shifting weather and tide patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use. We advise guests to wear foot protection (pool socks or aqua shoes) when entering the ocean to avoid injury on coral heads, ironshore, or rocks.

***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a seaweed that has increased in frequency over the summer months. Our owners take measures to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked before your arrival.

Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around Mother Nature.

    Was great location. Really nice furnishings on back porch area. Great for laying out in the sun. Beach was nice. Of course, seaweed is present, as it is everywhere on the island except 7 mile beach. Very secluded house with lush plants everywhere.

    Spent 10 days in February with my beautiful bride at Kai Tana.This is a private and secluded propery right on the ocean. You can enjoy full sun on the beach, or linger in the shade of the coconut trees sourrounding the house. The view is magnificent from both inside the house and out, and there was an omnipresent breeze to cool you off during the day and waves washing ashore to rock you to sleep at night. Simply an epic vacation stay.

    Me and my spouse stayed from 9/7-9/14 and enjoyed every moment. The property is beautifully maintained and the house was always an incredibly welcome comfort after a day of adventures. The location is perfect, the water was amazing, and the kittens on the property were a welcome sight every evening and morning. The views reminded us that we were in paradise every single day.

    Location, location, location!! Kai Tana is a beautiful cottage in a very private setting, shielded on both sides by foliage and a good distance from neighbors. Perfect for the North Side which is quiet anyway. The lot is beautifully landscaped, especially the back facing the Caribbean Sea. It really makes you feel like you are in a true island paradise. Cottage is perfect for two to four people. Both bedrooms are a good size. The main bedroom is adjacent to the second bathroom and smaller bedroom has an ensuite bath. The small kitchen is located between the bedrooms and is a perfect size for a beach cottage – who is going to spend time in the kitchen anyway? Living and dining space are a good size and has an amazing full view of the Caribbean. The outdoor hardscape and furnishings are also quite nice and comfy. Access to the beach – just steps from the house. It is not much of a walking beach, especially because of the sargassum. Don’t forget your water shoes because they are definitely needed. During our two week stay we were able to kayak and swim several times but on some days the sargassum was too thick. When there is no breeze it can get quite buggy and the smell of the sargassum can waft up toward the cottage. Luckily there was a good breeze most of the time. There are two cats who occupy the small “cat house” on the east side of the cottage. They were nice company and determined, but unsuccessful in getting inside or handouts.

    Kai Tana is a fabulous villa, it's right on a stunning white beach with hardly anyone else around - perfect! Angella, the manager, was fantastic! Really helpful and really friendly, full of top tips! The bed was incredibly comfortable! The villa was spotlessly clean and really well kitted out! LOVED IT ALL! So why then have I knocked it down a star on the overall rating? It was the sargassum sea weed - there is nothing that the Kai Tana team can do about it, but we had planned to fall out of the villa and spend our days snorkeling on the reefs just there, but the sargassum made that utterly impossible. The sargassum was literally meters deep and went on for meter after meter, we couldn't even wade through it; and there were waves and waves of the stuff coming in! I KNOW the villa can do nothing on their own, but I really hope that the Cayman government will do something to get it sorted. All that said, we had the most relaxing time and really enjoyed our stay - and we will be back!

    A quiet neighborhood, well organized services, extremely convenient island for non drivers because of the grocery store on-line shopping & delivery, a charming house. We had a lovely stay despite the sargassum (which can't be helped).
