Barnstable is comprised of seven villages, of which Hyannis is the largest. Hyannis Harbor is bustling with activity--ferries to the islands, fishing and sailing charters, and the Kennedy Monument. Main Street is home to shops, restaurants, and a few nightclubs. Hyannis Port, home to the Kennedy Compound, is a quiet & residential part of Hyannis.
Hyannis hosts a variety of attractions including Craigville Beach, Kalmus Beach, Orrin Keyes Beach, Veterans Beach, JFK Memorial, John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, golf courses, Cape Cod Central Railroad, and Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises.
The Hyannis Youth and Community Center (which is just over a mile away from the house) has an ice skating rink, a full size NBA regulation basketball court, volleyball, tennis, Ping-Pong, Pool Tables, Air Hockey, Foosball, Wii Room with 4 stations, Computer Lab with 8 stations, Gymnasium, a Teen Center and cafe!
Hyannis is located in the mid cape area so it is a good choice for those who want to be centrally located and enjoy a bit of everything the Cape has to offer in an upbeat, popular location.
Hi, we stayed for a week at this listing around the end of June 2022. The owners were nice and the property was clean, but a major gripe we had was that it was advertised as having central air. While the central air was working fine on the upper level (bedrooms), it was not working elsewhere (living rooms, dining/kitchen). The owner claimed to not have known about it, although that seems odd (one would think other guests or the cleaners would have alerted them). They made an effort to find an HVAC tech repair it but I understand that is not easy on short notice in the summer. I am sure the air was working fine earlier in the season as other reviewers don't mention it in prior years. We did feel like the lack of central air impacted us negatively - it was very hot for half the week with 90+ weather, in which we couldn't comfortably use the lower floors till sunset. We were denied our request for a partial refund of 1/7th of the week's rent, which I thought was more than fair of an ask considering it lacked working central air and we had 2 senior citizens with us, our 5-month old, and our 3-year-old. I will never stay here again and likely won't use VRBO ever again.
Central to great beaches & shopping. Cozy home in quiet neighborhood- ideal for families. Beautiful backyard w/ games & grill for cookouts.
Great location to explore all Cape Cod has to offer. House was nice and had everything we needed for our stay. Property owner was very responsive to any inquiries.
The house was perfect for our family. The house was close to downtown Hyannis and within the walking distance to a nice beach. The owners were great as well. Can’t wait to go back.
We enjoyed our stay! Property owner is very professional and thorough. House is in a great location and there are lots of games, movies, outdoor activities provided by owner. Had a few insect encounters, but nothing life threatening. It's a nice house. Everything works. All bedrooms are upstairs. Lots of great dining, easy ferry access, beach & town are walking distance, quiet neighborhood. We had fun!
The house gives the feeling of being in Cape Cod. It had a great backyard for kids to run around or just for relaxing. It is very close to the beach and Main st with the restaurants and shops. We had a great time.
We had a wonderful stay here. We appreciated being in a quiet residential neighborhood with a beautiful backyard for our young son to play in and a grill and firepit for us to enjoy. It was also perfectly situated in a central location - about a mile walk to the beach and Main Street and easy to get to ferries for day trips. Check-in and check-out process was very easy and the owner was highly responsive to any questions or needs. It was exactly the escape from our city life that we needed and we hope to be back! Favorite places: four seas for ice cream, craigville pizza, Anejo for Mexican
It was a very cozy house and we enjoyed our stay on the cape but not being able to get in the house on the first dayfor a long while due to the problem with the key was very frustrating .
Great location in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to a beach, MIn Street and shopping.
We had a wonderful week at Arielle’s place. The house was nicely presented and very clean. The huge back yard was fantastic for the kids to run around and enjoy. Comfortable beds and a very quiet neighborhood - would stay again!
