Volcano, Hawaii
The property has an asian design. Built in a u- shape with a hot tub in the center courtyard. Front gates surround the courtyard. I designed the property myself and took it to my architect and contractor. The hotel has 6 private suites surrounding the hot tub. We are running on solar electricity, propane hot water and a 10.000 gallon rainwater catchment system. Bathing , showers and the hot tub are all rain water. The hotel is placed in the forest surrounded by Ohia trees and Hapuu ferns and yellow ginger. Many forest birds here. Each room is named after the birds that live here. The park is re-opened and the visitors center is where to find current info on open trails and lava flow. Very safe by the way. The hot tub is to die for! The neighborhood is forested and great and safe for walking. The Volcano and crater are only 3 miles away with miles of hiking trails.

The 6 units are two on three sides with an above ground hot tub in the middle. Not really in the jungle or at best an euphemism.
John was very friendly and professional. The property is very beautiful.
The location of Jade Oasis is perfect for the Park! It is close enough that you can split your day and have a morning and evening visit. The room was super clean and the bed was great. The homemade muffins were a nice touch. I would come back!
My visiting cousin and I enjoyed our stay with everything we needed provided and more, loved the real dishes, wonderful bowl of fresh fruit and breakfast goodies! John was available for questions and needs! Hot tub made this stay a winner! The bed in the closet was comfortable and made for a good memory!
This property is in a remote area with little amenities nearby ( very limited restaurants and grocery options). It is secluded, if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and do some hiking in the national volcano park this is spot is perfect. The ecclectic room has good amenities ( fridge, table settings, etc) and the lanai is peaceful. The rooms could benefit from a good scrubbing and is in need of better ventilation.
I didn't know what to expect, photos were nice, reviews were great, and I only needed 1 night's accommodation. My husband and I LOVED it. The rooms were super-clean, the owner JOHN was exceptional; my daughter and her Fiancé drove over from Kohala; and we had a take out dinner from a local diner and ate the courtyard area. We will definitely stay there again. They had water provided and some muffins to snack on; mini refrig, coffee and tea was available as well. Thank you!
Great base location for Volcanos NP. Nice newer property. Everything you need. FYI, no A/C, but the weather is nice and cool up there. Host was very responsive
Host was very friendly and enthusiastic. Lovely place to stay if your going to volcanos national park.
Wonderful experience staying at John and Joy's place. Clean, well appointed room. I mean really clean! A coffee bar (with sugar, creamer, tea, etc) was a welcome addition each morning as I sat on my private lanai and enjoyed the tropical views and birds. Loved the bathroom in terms of lots of choices of shampoo, conditioner, after sun lotions, body washes, etc. Biggest points for nice, fluffy towels (none of those chintzy kinds you can see thru!). Small refrigerator was handy and there was even a bag of ice provided! Love these thoughtful touches! Fabulous location - easy access to Volcano Natl Park. John was a gracious and generous host. I loved this place and am already thinking about my next chance to come back and say Aloha!
Great location with lots of room for multiple families.
