Jack's Shack - Burrum Heads - Relax, fish and swim

Clean and yard very suitable for my two dogs. Planing to come back very soon

After booking - I read the reviews and I now understand most of them. Once you have stayed at Jacks Shack you'll feel not only like it's home away from home, but part of it's greater family.

Sorry it was nothing like it was advertised arrived early and after looking arounf decided to give the place a wide berth

Absolutely lovely little place to stop and stay and enjoy the area very close to beach and tavern for a great meal. We will definitely stay again!

Location was excellent with easy access to the beach via a walkway. Very quiet and peaceful, with everything you could need for a mini-getaway.

The house was perfect , frank and I loved the night we had at the house

Lovely, cosy accommodation in good location. Easy access to shops and river. Pet-friendly with a fully enclosed yard. Kitchen has everything you could want for a holiday stay, including a coffee machine. Books and games provided. Very well maintained and clean when we arrived.

Jack's Shack is great! The place was extremely clean and well supplied with everything you might need. The yard is secure and our dog was very happy. There was ample room for our boat to be behind closed gates.

Great property in a convenient location. Cath was a great host and communication was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Just a nice place to stay

The kitchen was fine. As we were there for 2 weeks we really needed a pantry. Lady next door was lovely. We had a lot of rain and the outside area was not the best with all the strong winds.

Quiet except sometimes caravan park users were loud but it was Melbourne cup day during our stay.Very private and safe for dogs. Initially Wi-Fi was an issue.

The kitchen was set up with everything you could possibly need. It was very pet friendly including puppy pee pads ( which we didn't need but great to see. ) Loved the safe back yard for the dog.

hi guys place was great just a few things when we arrived there was a basket of washing on washing machine we left it there.. also the back security door is locked but had no key all good but the fire alarm went off at 6.00 am one morning and we could not get out of that door. Just saying.... place ws clean and great thx so much we tried to leave it as we found it clean and tidy used blower on patio.. cleaned up wee doggy poo from back yard so all in all should be in great shape .. we are looking to plan another trip up to Burrum Heads and will definitely stay with you... thank you so much Bruce and Kerry

Lobely property, wasnt aware it was a duplex until a couple of days before which would have been nice to know as my kids can be noisy and I don't like subjecting others to that if I can help it.

As soon as you walk in jack shack it is homely, clean , comfortable its a home away from home , checkin was easy the kitchen facilities modern clean .We had our 2 dogs and having a place to stay that caters for your fur babies makes the stay relaxing . Plenty of space and secure outdoors

We love the shsck. We always come with our own supplies. So we werent too worried that the cleaners didnt get to do there top up of toilet paper etc. The unit was not dirty as the clients before left it in great shape. The dish washer was full but kitchen clean and tidy.We have stayed here a few times now and have always been satified with the fridge size and warm showers and the layout of the unit.We love the lady next door .she is such as wonderful soul. The cleaner came to make sure we were ok and i ensured her we were fine.Thankyou for our little breaks and we will.always be happy to return.

The unit had not been cleaned before we arrived, open bag of fly blow rubbish at front door, dirty glass with unknwon content in the fridge, plate in microwave dirty, coffee grinds on top of coffee maker, broken lid on rubbish bin so could not use it, 2 big cockroaches walked across longe room floor on first day, dog feaces not picked up from yrad and back door

It was comfortable & nice & quiet. Just lack of communication about the address but I worked it out from the map & the sign ‘Jacks Shack’

The property was clean n beautifully maintained. Would highly recommend it to family n friends.

The family and I loved the feel, cleanliness of this property. My daughter especially loved the board games provided! Would definitely stay again!

Why is cleaning SO overpriced for someone who wanted to stay 2 nights

This is our 2sd time staying at Jacks shack. We love it here so much and family who came to visit us also were all full of compliments about the shack. Easy walking distance to beach and shops and a huge bonus is the large parking spac.

This is a place to stay, it has everything you could possibly need, close to everything, very comfortable and affordable. Had a little trouble getting the code for keys though but sorted out. Many thanks to Cathy Smeeton, for her patience

It must of been our fourth stay at Jacks Shack. It is now our home away from home. We love it.

We had some difficulty opening the key box. Other older guests may find a similar situation. We were not able to open the box easily. Not a big problem as we and our dogs loved our stay with you. Regards, Michael & Mary

Fair accommodation. Okay for a small group. Only one shower/toilet.

Comfortable and very well set up

Perfect location and secure parking for vehicle and boat behind gates. Unit very clean and tidy with everything you require. Our bluey loved his own little yard and patio to sleep on after a big day out on the water. Only a short walk to the beachfront via a walkway. Excellent

The duplex suited us , fully fenced and enough room to park our car and boat, Very quiet and a good location. However the unit is in need of a good spring clean, the mat and lounges need cleaning, one of the freezer drawers had food residue on it, the windows on the sliding doors were very dirty and when the sun hits them in the afternoon it was very noticeable, dusty venetian blinds, food scraps on the table underneath the bbq. It is very reasonable priced, and we would return if it was cleaned up and maintained. I have several photos if the owner is interested in me passing them on.

Jacks Shack is a well appointed house which has everything you could desire except wifi but bring it with you. It’s clean, freshly painted, cool throughout, a/c and fans in bedrooms, fan in lounge area. Spacious back yard for car or boat and being pet friendly is the bonus. We will be back, highly recommended this accommodation in Burrum Heads.

well appointed super quiet place to stay,one negative which didnt suit me was that they dont send the key code until day of arrival which is annoying when yr travelling large distances to get there.

Comfy warm cosy convenient.

We absolutely loved staying at Jacks Shack and did not want to leave! Comfy bed, lots of room for parking, lovely undercover seating bbq area, dishwasher and the list goes on! The neighbour in the front unit is so friendly too! Will be back :)

Great stay, I needed to speak to the owner a couple times but she was very prompt in answering & helpful. Not keen on the narrow driveway though.

So clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Perfect with our Golden Retriever with the fully fenced yard. We walked to the cafes, the beach and the pub for dinner.

Host is non communicative, and not friendly. House is a unit joined with another, and it’s at the back, with a skinny driveway over 50 metres, with fencing on both sides and I did ask about room for our boat. If you can’t reverse every time you utilised the boat, don’t use this unit. It’s not boat friendly. Furniture is older than me, with stuffing falling out. We organised linen, but apparently she was let go, so we had no sheets or towels for two days, and there was no communication from the owner except to email me, a list the morning before we arrived ( not 24 hours before), of the rules, and how to open the key lock, so I noticed the linen lady had disappeared and had to contact a new person for problems, obviously no linen was my problem. We were woken early on our first day at 7am, solar panels being installed, and trades made a racket on the roof of the first unit, and blocked us getting out. Owners brief message was minimal disturbance, with no apology for organising the installation while we were here. No contact by the owner as a welcome, no how was your stay, instead I got another email with an attached schedule the day before we left, about a meter being installed by the energy company.I replied directly to the host, quite annoyed, only to be finally emailed that I was being rude. My comment was that it really has nothing to do with me, and did they realise we were leaving the next morning. So don’t bring a boat, it’s not a house, host definitely not friendly
