Stayed May 24, 2025Had a nice relaxing stay. If the weather is warm which it was for us then the pool is great. It is not heated so I don’t recommend going unless the pool has had a couple of weeks to be in the sun. A couple notes:-The dirt road to get to the house is sketchy. I would recommend having a 4x4. - The patio could use a fresh coat of paint. It is starting to peal.

Stayed May 15, 2025Beautiful house and property. Our annual girls’ weekend. Three nights. Dirt road is not that bad. Just drive slow. We were in SUV, but a low sports car would be the only one with a problem. The view, both day and night is great. In warmer weather the pool would be used, but it’s a nice view from inside all the time. One of us has mobility issues, and I didn’t realize there were about 8 stairs from driveway down to front door, without a railing. Just FYI. :) The quiet is remarkable and so relaxing.

Stayed Mar 28, 2025The pictures really sold this property to me and it was not a disappointment. True, the road to the property is bumpy and there are bits of paint coming off on some of the wood outside. But did these things negatively affect the stay at all? No. The house and the desert setting were just what we were looking for and I can’t recommend this house enough.

Stayed Jan 18, 2025As we’d expected, it was quiet out in the desert and we had lovely views of it. Enjoyed some hiking and the isolation during a certain political event in DC and all the news around that. The house is delightfully designed. It needs a bit of attention from the owners—not glaring stuff, but they should come out and look things over: some curtains need attention as they are worn at the top; the dishwasher has suffered much abuse by careless visitors but manages to work. We rinsed the dishwasher with vinegar and bleach, but someone needs to give it a very thorough cleaning down at the bottom. It may need a tuning up. Too many have left food on the dishes when putting them in the machine. We weren’t interested in picking up after them. Neither are the housekeepers, it seems. My warning to others (and I don’t know if someone left the same note before we chose the place) is that the last mile and half to get to the house is very challenging. The roads are not paved or maintained. They are bumpy dirt roads; some parts are like driving on railroad tracks. We did experiment with another way in that had a bit more pavement, but it ended up being scary—the holes in the dirt either up or down steep hills caused us to have to back up a few times so that we didn’t damage the underside of our cars. Four-wheel drives and trucks would do fine. If you don’t have one of those, be prepared to drive very very slowly and come when the sun is still out.

Stayed Apr 25, 2024Place was wonderful and booked for 3 nights. Unfortunately middle of the first night got some bad news and had to fly out the next day. So only stayed the one night. However the place is wonderful, super responsive host.
