Island Home is a 'Sheer Delight' at a Bargain Rate

The house is a great on island beach home with well functioning kitchen. The beds comfort and furniture were less then ideal.

We enjoyed our stay at Sheer Delight! Short walk to the beach. The screened porch was our favorite! Chuck was a great host!

Absolutely loved the location. House was very comfortable, clean, quiet, everything we had hoped for. Our host was very accommodating. I would be very happy to go back again.

Okay but a long distance to beach

Chuck has been amazing host me and my family been coming to his beach house for the last four years we love Sunset Beach is always a wonderful experience. The community people are always welcoming a good place to create memories.

The owner was extremely helpful and easy to work with. Pros: laundry on site Stainless steel pansRooms are great and spacious.Parking is enough for at least 4 vehicles and bikesRandom beach items located in laundry room in case you need something. Cons: Laundry room is in need of repair and cleaning. Visible mold-like substance on laundry room ceiling. Kitchen isn't very organized. Lots of dishes (more than the 6 person capacity limit could use all week) All of the nonstick pans are scratched and shedding their coating. Some pans were dirty. Recommend bringing own nonstick or be prepared to use the stainless set. Air return on main hall way was covered with dust. Random debris/trash noted under some furniture.

House was excellent for the price. Very clean and kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Host came by to say hello and was very friendly and great communication on rental. He oils highly recommend for a family on a budget.

We liked the location. It was close to the beach and shops on Sunset Beach. We didn’t stay at the house much but it was very home like. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well-equipped. Laundry and outdoor shower were conveniently located and the hammock was a nice touch. Would stay here again.

Sheer Delight met our expectations and Chuck was very responsive and available as needed. As noted in the reviews, the house is dated and needs some TLC. However, it is a beach house and most of our time was spent on the beach and when we were at the house, we enjoyed all aspects of the facilities. The only two things that I would say about the house, were that the AC return vent and some of the AC registers need a good cleaning and filter replacement, and the laundry room, although very functional, it could use some cleaning and TLC also. Other than that, everything else worked fine and we had a great time at Sheer Delight and look forward to a return trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sheer Delight during our annual visit to Sunset Beach. We’ve stayed in several rentals over the years - most of them more expensive - and this home stood out in a number of meaningful ways that truly enhanced our experience. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials - plenty of plates, cups, and utensils - which made meals easy and enjoyable. The air conditioning worked beautifully, even during some especially hot days, and the water pressure in the showers was excellent. We also loved the screened-in deck - it was a perfect spot to relax in the mornings and evenings.The location was another highlight. It’s just a short walk to the 32nd Street beach access, where tidal pools are. They are perfect for little ones to splash and play in. And with just a few extra steps, we discovered that the 34th Street beach access has a mostly ramped entry with only one short set of stairs at the end - very helpful for using a beach cart or wagon to carry toys, tents, and chairs.The house also included a nice selection of beach toys, making it especially well-suited for families with young children. Our host, Chuck, was very easy to interact with and provided simple, clear, and reasonable instructions, which made everything from check-in to checkout a breeze.Overall, it’s a well-appointed, comfortable home in a fantastic location that made for a wonderful beach getaway. We will be back!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is exceptionally stocked. The walk to the beach is a little longer than I thought but the owner was nice enough to let us use his beach cart. The beach was very unusual as the water stays shallow for a long way into the ocean. Great for kids. Would stay there again.

Location is good. This house needs lots of loving care and upgrades. Enjoyed our stay and the host was nice but he was at the house two times doing things without telling us he was coming. Lots of broken things and dirty vents and woodwork. Stove top burners were covered with foil and very dirty. cabinets needed cleaning. Windows needed cleaned really bad. Everything in the house was very old. Won't be renting there again. If you are going to rent out a house you have to keep up with the times and do alot of cleaning!!! Sorry, but it was just not acceptable. I had to do alot of cleaning myself to feel comfortable there. it was cleaner when i left than when we got there.

You can't beat the price for the amenities and location! We all really enjoyed our two week stay and the rental met all of our needs. We're already looking forward to next year at Sunset Beach!

Great location and floor plan. Access to the beach is just down the street. Great place for family fun and relaxation. House is dated, but everything works great, ac held up great with 90 degree days. Host was super responsive.

Easy check in and the owner went above and beyond. Great stay!

Lots of room, comfy bed put on bathing suit went to beach. Nice to do laundry near the end thank you.
