Additional Property Information:

About:

In the early 1950s John Zumstein set up shop with a handful of reindeer from Alaska. It eventually became the home of the largest domesticated herd in the nation, with over 120 reindeer. Many of these beautiful animals were featured during the holidays in places like Disneyland, and some even made their debut in movies and on TV shows!

For 70+ years the reindeer ranch was a must-see attraction in Central Oregon, with families coming from all over the country to visit this unique and magical place.  Many memories were made at the Old Reindeer Ranch, and we hope many new memories will be made at this special historic Redmond property.

The home is less than 10 minutes from Eagle Crest, a resort with golf, outdoor recreation, dining and spa experiences. Bend is 25 minutes south for a day trip where you will find endless choices for shopping, sipping brews and coffee, the Deschutes River, the Old Mill District and High Desert Museum.

Smith Rock State Park beckons – about 10 minutes north of Redmond on Hwy 97. Experience hiking, rock climbing, trail running, mountain biking, slackening and horseback adventures.

Sisters is a short jaunt west of Redmond where you’ll find restaurants, shopping, fishing, Suttle Lake, and Hoodoo Ski Area. Don’t miss the Sisters Rodeo, Quilt Show or the Sisters Folk Fest.

This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

NO SMOKING allowed at this property.

Maximum Occupancy: 10 Occupants - Children must be counted within the maximum occupancy unless they are under the age of two (2) and are sleeping in a crib.

Located close to Redmond, but yet still in the country. We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying at this property again in the future.

The Reindeer Ranch is an adorable home that makes you feel like you are HOME! Everything was perfect and the small touches they had in place such as bread and local jerkey on arrival, the adorable backyard with twinkle lights and hot tub, to the farmhouse kitchen that makes you feel like baking on vacation were the perfect touch. Stay here you will not be disappointed!

We had an amazing experience staying at the Reindeer Ranch! From the moment we arrived, the place felt like home. The house was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the thoughtful touches, like the blueberry loaf, candy, and jerky, made it extra special. The house was perfect for our party of 6 and 2 dogs. We couldn’t have asked for a better backyard for the dogs. Some enjoyed the hot tub and others enjoyed the cozy family room for board games and movies. The location was perfect—close to Redmond and all attractions you would want to visit. We also appreciated iTrip Northwest communication, which was prompt, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time, offering suggestions on things to do and checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly.Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We will be back next time we are in the area and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming spot!

This property is beautiful! It is so clean and fresh feeling with plenty of room to move around even with nine of us staying there! Plenty of seating, large bedrooms, great yard, etc. This was our second stay here and we will be sure to return again!

We adored the house! Large kitchen, spacious bedrooms, and great back yard with deck. We grilled and enjoyed family dinners in the evenings. Great location for checking out Sisters, Lake Billy Chinook, and Bend. We would stay here again.

Right on the highway, kind of noisy but also entertaining for the car people that we are. Two minor issues, deck is old. Wear sandals, and only one pan in kitchen

My girlfriend, dog and I drove and met my niece, her husband and three children at the reindeer Ranch. We are meeting to attend a family Reunion. The house had plenty of room for all of us. Nice backyard for the kids and dog to run around in. Games to play I had my six-year-old, great nephew convinced that this is where Santa Claus used to stay and train the reindeer. He was gonna go home and tell his classmates.❤️

We loved being at the Reindeer Ranch. The house was super spacious, clean, well stocked (all the kitchen tools you could ever need or want), and super easy communication with the rental company. Plus when we arrived we were gifted a yummy breakfast bread and delicious meat sticks from the Larkin Farm. Highly reccommend for families!

The house is cozy clean and the hot tub is devine. They left us a pack of pepperoni sticks and some fresh baked bread. The Keurig coffee pod selection was so fun. Might be one of the warmest welcomes from any place we have ever stayed. The beds are on the very firm side and could use toppers to alleviate the firmness. The white noise machines help alleviate the traffic noise from cars heading to sisters. We wish they still had reindeer on the farm. That would have been magical.
