Perfect! Beautifully remodeled turn of the century cottage. 4 bedrooms 2 full baths and really nice well equipped kitchen. Very Clean! Provided fans for upstairs bedrooms. Nice deck and front porch with views of the marina and down the inland lake, perfect for the fireworks viewing. Con: the listing said that there was beach access to the Macatawa (Lake Michigan) Beach. BUT.. there are disagreements between the ElDean Shipyard owners (which own the cottage) and the Macatawa Home Owners Association as to whom may have right of way access to the path to the beach. The path sits on private property but the beach is public, with out any other land access. The pool across the street is for the Shipyard Members. The cottage Does Not come with access, can’t even buy a day pass…weird since the owners own both the cottage and the shipyard. Just be aware. Otherwise this was perfect for our needs for the 4th of July.
Homey, roomy, extremely comfortable.
The house is charming and extremely clean with fresh paint and a brand new kitchen. The hosts were very quick to respond to my questions before booking. The beach is a nice, 15 min walk. The only down side in my opinion is it is not a very nice view from the front porch of the house but we knew that from the photos. We still had a wonderful time as it was a great location to spend Labor Day weekend near our girls at Hope College which is extremely close.
Very nice location, clean, and a great overall experience.
We loved our stay at Grandma's Cottage. The home is perfect: clean, comfortable, beautiful and perfectly organized for renters. The yard is large and we brought yard games and the kids played for hours. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. We were in town for an event at the yacht club, which was right across the street. The What's Nearby map feature on vrbo is misleading- though if anyone looks at the map, one would realize: Holland State Park (and everything near it) may be mapped at less than a mile away, but it's a 25-minute drive through Holland to get around Lake Macatawa to get there. Worth the drive but not .6 miles away! Closer beach access - Laketown Beach - is lovely.
This was a great property and we had a lot of fun staying the weekend there!
The house was newly renovated and beautiful. It was spacious and had plenty of room for adults and little kids to play. We really appreciated them having a high chair- one less thing for us to pack! It was right across the street from the lake. The only downfall was difficult access to the beach, but the house itself was perfect!
Our family enjoyed staying at the Grandma Cottage for our 4th of July vacation. The cottage is close to the lake and beach and the yard was a bonus for the kids to run around when they were sick of the sand and lake. We would love to stay again next year!
