The house is absolutely lovely. The owners have provided absolutely everything that you might need (with the exception of a grater or seater, but we managed!). Firewood, bug spray and citronella candles, batteries for the remote! We spent hours and hours on wraparound deck that faces the lake. The lake is clean and very gradually deepens. It was so nice to have access to the kayaks and canoe. The owner was VERY ACCESSIBLE and helpful. One thing to note: guests must wash and dry the bed linens and towels before leaving — so as a guest, you must hustle on your last day. Not difficult, but be aware of how that will impact your timetable! Bottom line — I would return to this house in a heartbeat!
Our second stay this year. Three days of heaven. The house has everything you need, right down to toothpicks and corn holders! The loons were active on the lake. The weather allowed us to spend days and nights on the large deck. A perfect getaway. Thank you Nancy, for your kindness. Kathy and Jim Ferrara
We had a great time, this is our second stay at this property and would certainly go back. The owners make things easy as they have all the information about the property ready for you when you arrive. The property is always immaculate and has everything one would need for your stay. We love the kayaks and spend lots of time relaxing and sitting on the beach. We would highly recommend this property!
Wow, we have been renting lake houses in New Hampshire for most of our 44 years of marriage, and this is, by far, the best one yet. Spacious interior, spotless, fully stocked with household items you usually have to bring from home. Outside: Beautiful deck with umbrella table, sandy beach, fire-pit, and song birds galore. One caveat: If renting off-season, bring heaters for the bath and bedrooms. The only heat source is a small gas fireplace in the kitchen. The owners are extremely gracious and accommodating. We will return! Kathy and Jim Hanson, MA
What a lovely home, and such responsive, kind owners. This home is on a perfect site on Swains Lake, so peaceful and beautiful. The home is well-appointed, with thoughtful tips/information for guests. I would absolutely recommend this gorgeous home.
We've stayed at this lakehouse 2 years in a row, for two weeks each time. The house is immaculate but comfortable, and very well appointed. The lakefront property is gorgeous, and the owners were always very responsive. They live nearby and were there to greet us upon our arrival. They clearly love this place and great care is taken to make guests as comfortable as possible. There is one master bedroom, with the other set up with 4 bunk beds and a foldout couch, with plenty of bed linens and towels. The hot outdoor shower is great! Internet is a little erratic but serviceable. If you wish to watch tv be sure to bring an internet accessible device with HDMI input. There is, however a DVD player, and Redbox not far away at the grocery store. The house is very convenient to groceries, pharmacy, liquor and hardware stores. It's also an easy drive to the seacoast. The lake is very quiet in the mornings and evenings, with some boat traffic in the afternoons. Nights are quiet, making it possible to fall asleep to the sound of gentle waves on the beach, and if you're lucky, the cry of the loons. We can't say enough about this little piece of paradise!
This property is simply fantastic, We have used HomeAway about 10 times for vacations, and this is definitely our favorite one so far. The lot is the best you could ask for. The sandy beach has a very gentle slope so you can dip your feet into the clean water or slowly go in deeper. There is a dock, and a grassy yard with a firepit. It is incredibly private. There is a fence on one side and tons of trees and bushes on the other side, so you are not on top of your neighbors, like most places. There is also a huge deck and two patio sets so you could sit 10 for dinner out there. We used the two kayaks every day to paddle around the lake, and it was beautiful. We tried the paddle boat too, but the kayaks are more fun. Inside, the house is open concept with high ceilings and large rooms. We like to cook, and there was every kitchen tool and pan you would ever need. Plus a dishwasher, which is unusual for a lake rental. The house is super clean and neat. We were able to easily hook up our laptop to the TV to watch some Netflix, plus there is a dvd player to watch movies (there is a Redbox about 10 minutes away). The owneres really have thought of everything. We went to Dantes one night, which is a fantastic Italian restaurant nearby. We also went to Smokey Goodness Pub for some great barbecue one night. But our favorite thing to do was just sit on the deck or in the living room and look out at the lake and relax. I HIGHLY recommend this house, it is exactly what we wanted in a relaxing lake house. I wish we didn't have to leave!
This is a little spot of paradise! We stayed for a week, could have stayed forever. The home was VERY clean and well maintained. Everything you could think of was there. We were right on the lake. It's a beautiful location with a dock, kayaks, canoe, pedal boat and fun for all! Our first night included fireworks and a live band across the lake which was an added bonus! It is located in what seems like a remote area but you are very close to the grocery store, pet store, gas station, all that stuff. And a short drive to Hampton Beach and Kittery Maine (we did both). The water is so clean and the lake is a great fishing spot. Every day was fun fishing, paddling, swimming and relaxing!! We took both our dogs and they enjoyed it as well! We had one rainy day and there were plenty of board games to entertain. We had a great game of Monopoly to pass the time. To be honest we didn't want to leave and we are already planning next year's vacation here. The owner is very nice and she was there to greet us upon arrival.
This was our 3rd time renting this beautiful lake house and each time we do we are sad to leave. The owners are super friendly and great to deal with. The house is not only beautiful with a wonderful view, it has everything you need for your stay. There are linens and towels inside and outside you have lawn chairs, kayaks and a canoe along with fire wood so you can enjoy a nice fire in the firepit! This is also a great place to stay if you have little ones due to the nice private beach with shallow entry to the water. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It's beautiful, clean, private and quiet. There is plenty of room inside and out.
We have rented many beach/lake houses and I have never rented one so clean. It really was immaculate and that plays a huge factor for us in deciding wether to re-rent again in the future. We will most definitely rent this house again! The floor plan is wide open and the living and dining area have great views of the lake. There is a private beach area which was just perfect to kayak and paddle board from. We fished from the private dock and enjoyed a campfire at night. We brought our 2 dogs and they even had the time of their lives. I truly enjoyed the house and hope to be back next year!
