The house and location were perfect for our family trip! Thanks to our host Jane for being so accommodating!
This is the best short-term rental house I've ever stayed in. The experience from beginning to end was easy and seamless; the owner is lovely. The house is perfectly appointed with great linens and plenty of kitchen supplies. It is comfortable and homey and there is no beating the view. Overall, it was lovely and we hope to return soon.
Thanks
We had an amazing stay in this beautiful home. The setting right on the water was unbeatable while the remoteness on Days Island felt like a true escape despite being very convenient to Seattle/Tacoma. The house had everything we needed with plenty of space - I can't wait to book another stay here.
Incredibly beautiful house and setting right on the sound. Playing bags on the back lawn with the sun setting over the water was a moment I’ll never forget. The house is over 100 years old so it has a quirk or two, but it more than makes up for it with all of its charm and comfort—the beds were all incredibly comfortable. Jane is a great host as well. I look forward to staying here again!
Very nice location, views of the sunsets over the water was simply beautiful ?
We enjoyed this property immensely. Very comfortable and amazing place to watch sea life. Great communication with owner. Well stocked and a quiet getaway.
Great place for family to get away & enjoy some R&R on Day Island. The owner is super helpful & responsive. Nice setup for a larger family with the basement. Enjoy the marine life & sunsets! Boathouse 19 on Marina is right down the road for fun meal/drinks on water.
This property was perfect for my wife's family to come over & hang out with everyone. We were very fortunate with the extraordinary weather of 70's & ? all week. The marine life is abundant & sunsets are so peaceful on the Sound. Nice amenities to the house & the property owner Jane has open lines of communication. She grew up there with her family. Great house for family get together's on Day Island.
Great house, lots of character. The sunset over Fox Island was amazing. Lots of room inside and out. We loved it. Will definitely stay again.
This old house has a lot of character, and is decorated with charm and comfort in mind. Everything you need is available, and if you can't find it then the owner is within easy reach to help you. Beds are comfortable with ample pillows and coverlets. There is ample supply of plush towels and hot water for showers. We did have some trouble moderating the temperature in the upstairs, and the front bedroom experiences direct train noise several times in the early morning. Blackout shades in that bedroom would be a welcome addition as the sun rises on that side of the house. We didn't want to leave the expansive view of the water from the main bedroom, and from the 'observation lounge' where we took our morning coffee; binoculars provided for checking out the harbor seals and porpoises. Furnishings are definitely Period-pieces, which added to the character of the house, and the flooring does squeak as old houses do. If you have mobility issues, the stairs can be a challenge. Note also that the home has safety grab bars in the bathrooms. TV is large-screen flat panel, and we had no issues using the WiFi.
Puget Sound is in the backyard of this property on a charming car -accessible island. We enjoyed just watching the tidal flows and spotting small fish and dolphins (or were they porpoises?) from one of four very pleasant outdoor seating areas or the glass walled living room. The house has character and charm, albeit some quirks including having only one bathroom on the floor with 3 bedrooms and some rooms with windows that do not open. The owner was communicative.
