Cape Charles, Virginia
Huntington Farm is a fantastic 14 acre gathering place for a large family or multi-family group. Situated along Cherrystone Creek just 5 miles from the town of Cape Charles, it is an ideal setting to get away from it all but still close to the great shops and restaurants in the town.
Built in the 1600's and fully restored, it has huge living areas including a formal living room, formal dining room, a large modern kitchen and a family room with large picture windows looking out on Cherrystone Creek. The second floor sleeping areas include three bedrooms with en suite baths. Bedroom 1 has a king bed, bedroom 2 has a queen and bedroom 3 has two sets of bunk beds. There is also a sleeping/sitting room that has two day beds (twin size).
The expansive grounds can easily accommodate large events with the addition of tents if need be.
We loved the house and property. It was private but yet within a short drive to shop and dine. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. We did have trouble getting the tv to work (football weekend) We hope to stay at Huntington Farm again.
Overall a great time with the exception of grass cuttings being tracked in the house and embetted in our dogs' fur and tree trimming interrupting our stay.
We stayed in this house last Memorial Day weekend (2022) and had such a great time that we booked it again this year. While we had a great time in Cape Charles, we found the house was not on the same par as last year. There were cobwebs throughout the house and clumps of dust under the furniture int he family room. We felt the cleaning fee should cover a better cleaning job. Also, the kitchen was not as well stocked with cooking utensils and necessary cleaning items (dish soap, paper towels, sponges, etc.) as we felt it was last year. Overall we feel it's a beautiful house and property - we were just disappointed in the lack of cleanliness and supplies that are normally included when renting.
We had a wonderful stay Easter weekend! My family loved the no frills charming old farmhouse. The house could use some maintenance but, the beautiful views of the water make up for it! There was plenty of space for seven adults, a toddler, and two dogs! The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook or there's plenty of options to eat out in Cape Charles! It was fun learning about the history of the farm including the cemetery on the premises! We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and use of the firepit close to the water! If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place away from it all this is the place to stay!
Great space for the whole family to relax. Fun to kayak by the water, breathtaking sunsets, fire pit and foosball table were a plus.
Perfect getaway from the noise and traffic. Great property management. Quick response and help!
Lots of space. Lots of history...house built in 1600's but very nice and spacious. Internet was a bit slow at times but overall worked. Towels and linens included which was real nice. Places for a fire, BBQ etc. Great place..definately going back.
We loved the house and the property - both were beautiful and well kept. It was so peaceful - all you heard were the birds chirping! I'd love to know about the history of the property since it was established in the 1600s! I'd definitely recommend it to others! Cape Charles is a delightful town! We had a great time!
We loved the area. Beautiful and peaceful. House met all our needs. Home was very clean. We felt like we had stepped back in time! Our little dog loved running in the field and wading in the water. The entire family had a wonderful experience and plan to return!
Chesapeake Bay house with warm and charming decor that reminded us of home. Private and yet close to town. Lots of room inside and out for family and friends to explore as well as enjoy the incredible views.
