House / Villa - Watamu

We stayed over the Christmas and New Year period and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were courteous and professional and both Franklyn (the property caretaker) and Patrick (the chef) were truly outstanding.

We loved our stay at Baobab villas. From our arrival, Franklin was amazing. He showed us around our villa, discussed our upcoming plans and gave us information on how to get around. Ronald, our chef was also incredible. Very creative in cooking and accommodating for children. The villas were spacious and clean. Be aware the third bedroom is a separate entrance on the second level. Check out the upper level to view the stars! Wifi was consistent. The location is a short tuk tuk ride from town, but far enough for quiet after a fun day out.

This place is really quite amazing. This was our first time to Watamu and we didn’t really know what to expect. The beaches here are so amazing and the people are wonderful. We did have a slight miscommunication right off the bat regarding dinner on arrival, but it was quickly remedied. Daniel was wonderful with answering questions about the house and it’s amenities. And once we realized that Franklin, the house manager, was really the one to go through for everything else, we hit our stride. I think it would be helpful to have more pictures of all the rooms and maybe a floor plan of the villa, so that people truly understand what they are getting. The bonus rooftop for watching sunsets was really great. But the third bedroom was not really usable for our family (three children 6 and under) because the stairs and access were outside, separate from the rest of the house. It is also helpful to know that the bedrooms have A/C, but the main room did not. Also, the pool is shared with three other villas, which was not a problem, but just nice to know ahead of time. We highly recommend paying extra for the staff. They cooked incredible meals and picked up the house while we were out and about. And it was so nice to not have to worry about cooking and cleaning up. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We had such a great time that we will never forget!

Close to nice beaches and nice relaxing yArd with pool.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I am a very judgmental person and the fact that I am saying that it is STUNNING really means something! My family is Kenyan- American and we were looking for a place to just get away and this was perfect! We will be booking again next year and we have been telling people all over D.C. about this amazing villa! I love the bathrooms! i know it's random but i though the design was so authentic and chic and it really stayed true to the Kenyan style. It is time to get away from the internet and read a novel by the pool. The owner provided magnificent customer service and I would recommend this to the royals!

We enjoyed the house and compound very much! Very friendly and helpfull staff, lovely garden, spacious and kids friendly swimming pool. Large modern rooms and kitchen -great value for money. We would certainly recommend it to friends!

Lovely holiday house with very helpful staff. Absolutely perfect pool for toddlers and adults to share. For improvement I would suggest a baby cot or detachable sides for the single beds, and a mosquito net for the double bed to enable a good nights sleep.

Beautifully designed and very well kitted out. Air conditioning that worked. Polite helpful staff. Sparkling pool with beds/towels provided. A very enjoyable holiday

Great house and compound. Staff professional and helpful. Will definitely use it again and highly recommend it to families with small children as it is very safe and self contained.

This place is absolutely wonderful: safe, clean, peaceful, very well maintained, with very dedicated staff - 2 thumbs up for Abraham- who is doing his best to make our stay very enjoyable and easy. The building is of great quality- like in the photos- the garden is a little paradise with its beautiful pool and charming cascade. We stayed more than 2 weeks and asked for a cook so we enjoyed a four stars hotel facilities in a rented property which is a very good money value for a family of 7. The only little tiny negative point is: the access to the beach is not easy. But for us, this didn''t really matter as we spent a lovely and restful time in the property. Watamu beautiful beaches are very close by car. We will definitely come back with maybe friends who could stay in the other houses of the property.
