We stayed for 2 weeks with 2 teenage kids. The house was very clean, comfortable (including beds) and well equipped. The air con is a real bonus. The swimming pool is lovely, a good size for games with kids. I was a little worried about the outdoor space being tight but it was fine - the partition separating the swimming pool works well, giving enough privacy without blocking the view. The street is a little underwhelming but it’s not really an issue, as the house itself is great and is only a 5 min walk (with lots of steps!) to the port/shops. Port Vendres doesn’t have the charm of Collioure but it has a nice port, with restaurants/shops and a very good bakery. It’s also well located: 10min drive to beautiful Collioure, 10min drive to the amazing Anse de Paulliles. We also enjoyed renting a boat and taking a day trip to Cadaques. For runners, there is a nice hilly route to do around the port. Emmanuelle was helpful before and during our stay. One of our best holiday rental experiences!

The apartment was accurately described and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Parking was excellent directly outside the apartment and the location was perfect, 200 metres to the harbour with a wonderful selection of restaurants, supermarket was nearby in walking distance as was the local bakery. Port Vendres is a wonderful place as is the nearby towns of Colliure and Banylus-sur-Mer and Emmanuelles apartment was the perfect location to enjoy this area of France.

We had a wonderful stay here with our 6 month baby and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Apartment is really spacious, comfortable and well fitted out. The outside area is very sunny and the BBQ area is nicely shaded. The place seems nicely sheltered from the wind. The owners provided a range of baby equipment which was really appreciated and they were very nice people to deal with and live next door if any issues. Port Vendres was also a good location with cafes/ bakeries etc and could walk to Collioure (with pushchair) or get train there.

The apartment was extremely well-equipped and modern. A great deal of thought had been given to its open-plan design, and although it can accommodate up to 6, as a mature couple looking for a bit of luxury, this was perfect. The location gives easy access to the Port which is quiet but well-serviced with restaurants. Our favourite was the Tramontane - recommended by Emmanuelle. Great food and service and good value for money. The location is perfect for discovering the Pyrenees and there are many historical sites to visit as well as good Mediterranean beaches close by. Collioure is, of course, a 'must-see' but very busy with other tourists. I'm very glad we decided to stay in Port-Vendres!

Our rental of the gîte fulfilled our expectations in every way. The location, just a few steps away from Port-Vendres' dockside restaurants and shops, was ideal. As a new-build, the gîte was gleamingly clean with modern open-plan kitchen (equipped with high-end appliances), two 'Italian-style' shower rooms, two large double bedrooms and a beautifully designed and furnished living room with sliding glass doors offering enticing access to a spotlessly clean pool and newly built sauna just beyond. We could not have asked for more welcoming and considerate hosts who did everything in their power to make our stay an enjoyable and productive one. Not only were our queries and questions answered immediately but our hosts went out of their way to introduce us to the local community. We would not hesitate to recommend the gîte to friends and colleagues. The fishing town of Port-Vendres has a unique charm which is reflected in the warmth and friendliness of the local residents. Our out-of-season rental lasted for three months which flew by much too quickly, such was the variety of activities and attractions in the town and vicinity. Local walking is excellent with a chance to explore the foothills of the Eastern Pyrenees with spectacular views of Collioure and further afield. Trips can be made on the Petite Train Jaune or the regular 1 euro bus to Perpignan or to the hills and mountains beyond. The town has a variety of wonderful fish restaurants (the 'Côte Vermeille' in particular is not to be missed), a local market and fresh food shops with service supplied by the ever-friendly and helpful locals. The arrival of the fishing boats twice-daily with their tantalising shoals of fresh fish to buy is the icing on the cake. For artists and historians the Charles Rene Mackintosh trail and museum offers an insight into his paintings inspired by the harbour and rocky surrounds.
