Want to get away from it all? This is the cottage to do it. The three of us (me, my husband and our university-aged daughter) stayed for four early Sept. nights. Love the open concept kitchen/living room. View of Ponhook Lake and the setting itself is beautiful, even on a rainy day. We loved having a rainy day, to be honest—we all a chance to slow down, read, play Monopoly, and sit by the fire. The next day, we enjoyed an afternoon hiking at Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct and dinner in Liverpool at Lane’s; but otherwise, we made full use of the very well-stocked kitchen. We also took one of the canoes out a couple of times and explored. And one clear, crisp and starry night, we had a fire in the fire pit and gazed at the Milky Way. Spectacular. Also very cool watching a float plane come in for a landing nearby (took me back to my childhood days living in the far north). We will be back, only will stay for at least a week. Four days just wasn’t enough. My only suggestion for the owner is to perhaps have a memory foam layer topper for the mattresses. We both like a fairly firm mattress, but we found we had to add some blankets underneath us, to cushion things a bit. Both beds had the most firm mattresses I think any of us have ever slept on. That said, I know it’s difficult to find mattresses that please everyone. If you like a firm mattress, you’ll be extra-thrilled. I will add that the place was immaculate. Kudos to the housekeeping folks!

This is a beautiful cabin right on the lake, very peaceful and relaxing! It is a good location for day trips to Lunenberg and the coast, and Kejimkujik NP. Well equipped kitchen (be sure to get groceries before arriving as limited stores nearby). Two canoes made for a fun day of paddling around the lake from island to island. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful place to unwind. The lake was perfect to explore by canoe. So peaceful. It was a bit of a ride to stores and services but that was a plus for me! Missing it already.

A relaxing stay on a magical property with a comfortable cottage and a dramatic, private lakefront. The cottage has all amenities, including canoes for a daily paddle that just never gets boring. Can't wait to book again. :)

We had such a nice stay at House Eagle Cove. The cottage was clean, had all the modern amenities, and the lake was only maybe 20 steps from the back door. We're already planning our next trip back ;)

A perfect place normally for me, as it has everything I normally seek. Because there is no tv service, and I would paddle in the early morning hours before it got hot and the wind caused waves, I was typically back at the cabin by 9am or so. Had 12+ hours to kill, as I hadn't planned on leaving the cabin except for 1 day, but that could increase if I got called in to Mahone Bay... So, I saved plenty of work to do on my laptop and internet, and planned to look for hotel rooms for my 3+day drive back, look up restaurant reviews, things to see and do on the way back, and perhaps day trips from the cabin if I found things of interest. Unfortunately, due to storms, the internet towers were down and there was no internet - and therefore, I couldnt do work, research, find things to do, etc. and was dead in the water as they say. I had to drive into Bridewater every other day, to Dairy Queen to get wifi/internet to get work done and a few other things internet related. Due to the lack of wifi, the days were very long, I couldnt communicate with those who were supposed to send text, call, use messenger, whatsapp, etc. to keep in touch with me or to have me go into town for possible important meetings, etc. Had I known there was no internet available, I might have cancelled as I had lots of things of importance to get done as I had just planned on doing this during the late morning, afternoon and evening every day to occupy my time. Could only read for so long.....
