Stayed Apr 12, 2023We spent seven days here in April, 2023. This is a lovely village with everything you might need for a great time. Restaurants were exceptionally good. The people were very nice and outgoing. Many spoke English. Lots of good walking in the area. We'd go back to this area in a heartbeat. If you go don't miss nearby Marvao castle and village. As for the house, there are 38 steep steps from the lower level up to the terrace. The middle flight is steepest and has no handrail. The house is 3 levels stacked on top of each other with the terrace on top. The lower level is a rudimentary apartment. It's tiny kitchen was not equipped at all for cooking. The bedroom on this level smelled strongly of mildew in spite of our running the dehumidifier day and night. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. Be aware that it is five feet wide, not six as is an American size king bed. The owner was very kind when we called about needing some kitchen equipment and provided what we ask for immediately. Tho the the steps were an unpleasant surprise, they helped us burn off calories so we could eat more great food. Don't miss trying Ginja, the fruit-based liqueur of Portugal.

Stayed Sep 9, 2022Very unique place near (or perhaps in) the old Jewish quarter of Castello da Vide. The drive to get here is along the narrow streets of the town so best to have a mid size car or smaller. The property is neat! You have stairs but it adds tons of charm and character. Kitchen is terrific. Best part would be 1.) proximity to castle and Jewish quarter 2.) views from your window and patio! Worth a visit.

Stayed Feb 27, 2022We had a wonderful stay in this home located right by the castle. The view from our balcony was spectacular. The home was well equipped and furnished. The upper floor with kitchen and dining area was spacious enough for 4 people. The first night was cold but once we figured out the heat we were comfortable. We loved the town and close proximity to everything. Our host was quick to reply to our needs and we really appreciated that!
