The location was great. Backs right up to the foothills with hiking trails. Beautiful view of the city at night. The house itself was acceptable; however, it is an older property and many of the furnishings and fixtures reflect that. The bed linens were very thin and had visible stains. We also found old coffee grounds with mold left in the coffee pot. The owner was notified and did promptly deliver a new coffee pot the following morning, which was appreciated. The beds were adequate but as I said before, everything was old. Bathrooms was fine with no issues. The main issue during our stay was access to the property. The driveway is steep, unpaved, and deeply rutted, making it difficult to navigate. Both a small SUV and a midsize SUV struggled to get up the driveway. There is no practical street parking, as the home sits on a hill with no stairs to the entrance and rocky, uneven terrain. Guests with smaller vehicles may find access extremely challenging.Additionally, several sliding glass doors were difficult to lock and unlock due to their age. Communication with the owner was difficult at times, but he eventually responded. Would we stay here again, probably not due to access issues⸻

It was a great location with great views. We were there for Balloon Fiesta week and didn't spend much time there, but we were comfortable and had more than enough room. We were able to see some balloons from the windows and managed a quick hike on the trails in back. I read anothee review about people using the trails by the house and I appreciated the heads up that there might be people around, so it didn't phase me...so I'm sharing that information too.

The property was lovely, clean and perfect for our families needs. The driveway is quite steep, but managable. My only concern was the proximity of the trail head and all the people entering the area.

The size was great for our group of 8 adults and a one month old. Good amount of dishes but no cookie sheets. All furniture is completely mismatched and old. Cement floors but carpet in rooms which is nice except no transition piece between them caused a big tripping hazard. Lots of windows great views and lots of light in the day but pretty sheer curtains made us feel insecure at night also lighting is not good. Soooo dim. Needs many new light bulbs to lighten things up. Pool table was a good source of entertainment but is soooo unlevel that it was hard to play a real game. Some games and some baby items like bouncer were a nice bonus. The “hiking trails” are very thin dirt paths up a steep mountain with tons of cacti, not really appealing! About 15 min from everything including airport. Later shower looks really nice but it’s quite cold in winter time and gets water everywhere.

We sat on the Lenai and watched the balloons fly across the city spread below us. The house was lovely and the location great. It was a bit difficult pulling up the hill into the parking pad, but that is city property.

Stunning views, right next to the mountain. I can use these words, but until you experience it alone, my words are words. I can tell you this is now my go-to getaway from life, and I want to go back to the basics. It would be best if you watched Albuquerque wake up and go to sleep, magical.

The family really enjoyed the stay in the foothills of the Sandias, close to hiking right off the end of the driveway! The view of the city of Albuquerque was unbelievable from the house, even seeing fireworks pop up all over the city on the Fourth of July. Although the appliances and decor in the house anre older, everything worked just fine and it was a great stay! Jeff, the owner, was a huge help and responded immediately if we ever needed anything, and was very friendly and courteous. The swamp cooler worked better than expected, so it stayed mostly cool even in a hot summer season. Recommend this stay if you’re ever in the area…

We appreciate the authenticity of this classic Albuquerque home. Built in the 1970s, this home is definitely a testament to that era as almost everything is original. The location is ideal if you like to hike. The door is steps from a complex system of scenic trails. The picture windows look over Albuquerque, providing a lot of light in the daytime, sunset views and city lights at night. The imperfections that go along with an older home are definitely present. But, we expected that so we weren't disappointed.
