Hoodsport, Washington
Awesome waterfront vacation home on Hood Canal at Lilliwaup Bay! Incredible 180-degree views of the Canal from nearly every room in the home. Great Kayaking right from the private beach (three kayaks and two rowboats and life vests for complementary use by guests). Nearly 100’ of private low-bank waterfront and tidelands. Oysters and clam digging are nearby (subject to WDFW regulations). The bay is home to Bald Eagles, numerous species of waterfowl, Blue Heron, King Fishers, migratory and resident salmon ( King, Silver, Chum), seals, sea lions, otters, and occasionally Orcas.
The relaxing home is situated on a huge lot away from highway 101 giving it uncommon privacy and quiet compared to other Canal properties. A large deck which overlooks the water is equipped with a gas barbecue. Additionally, located feet from the water is a fire pit for campfires and/or barbecuing.
Built in 2008, the home has modern amenities such as granite countertops, stone gas fireplace, 50” and 43” HD smart TVs (Netflix and Amazon Prime Video) with Blue Ray DVD player, high speed internet, stereo system, and a modern fully equipped kitchen. The home is a custom-built home and while it has all the modern conveniences it also has a charming rustic feel to it. Great views from nearly every room including the upstairs loft master bedroom.
By master bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed. Additionally, the living room has a queen sleeper sofa, and a portable twin XL is available as well.

Nice!
Last year, we had one of the best family vacations ever at Jay's place. Its beautiful, comfortable and well appointed, and location can’t be beat. We had an incredible time exploring area, flora and fauna. Our nine-year-old said that all he wanted to do this summer was go back to the Hood Canal and that we MUST stay at the same place. We did! And we had another amazing time this year. Thanks, Jay!
We had a wonderful stay at this really nice and clean home right on the banks of Hood Canal. We had everything we needed and we’re impressed by the cleanliness. Communication with the owner Jay was quick and easy. It’s quiet and we had a relaxing stay. Highly recommended!
Jay is an attentive, communicative host. You will NOT find a Hood Canal/Hoodsport home with a better bedroom view! Every morning I woke up to the sunrise over the canal right from the loft. This home is ideal for a romantic getaway for two- just because the master is the loft bedroom & I could communicate clearly with my family downstairs in the kitchen from my bed in the master. That said- we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We kayaked , cooked, grilled, swam in the canal & at Lake Cushman, napped and played yatzee. I highly recommend Jake’s Hide-a-way Fishing Lodge!
Very relaxing. Perfect weather the entire time. Hurricane ridge awesome. Ruby beach and Victoria, B.C very scenic and worth getting up early to catch the ferry. Fortunate to enjoy your beautiful state.
We had high hopes for our stay at this property and we were NOT disappointed! The view from the house and on the patios is stunning! The weather was ideal for our stay, but if it hadn't been, we would still have been able to enjoy the setting. We took advantage of the well appointed kitchen and patio barbecue to eat in and took a few excursions to nearby scenes, but mostly enjoyed a relaxing time on the property with my 90-year-old mother. There was a little glitch with the access code when we arrived, but Jay had it corrected before I had a chance to contact him. Later in our stay, we accidentally locked ourselves out and Jay was able to help us immediately. Thank you Jay! I can recommend this property without hesitation and will definitely consider booking it again for a relaxing get-away.
Hoods Port is a lovely spot. Easy access from Seattle. Nearby hiking trails and water sports. A couple delightful restaurants. Don’t miss the Oyster Bank. We enjoyed kayaking and just sitting on the patio soaking up the view. The accommodation is perfect for four people. Very open and light. Bring eye shades if you are a late sleeper. There is a Keurig and drip coffee maker but no coffee grinder as listed. Jay is a thoughtful host and provided many of the little things that make for an enjoyable stay.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Clean, comfortable and the most amazing location. We came to tour the Olympic Peninsula and had plans for every day but decided to spend a couple or days right here because it was so relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend this place. Jay is an excellent host.
great location and home
We loved this waterfront cabin located by Hood Canal. When we first entered the cabin we were welcomed with fresh flowers, a note fro the owner, and a lovely fire burning in a beautiful stone fireplace. The cabin was spotless, has a well appointed kitchen with any tool you’ll ever need, and the large loft bedroom with King bed provides a stunning view of Hood Canal. The views downstairs are equally as gorgeous and invite you to enjoy a large yard and the use of a wide variety of water toys. Five stars.
Everything about this little home was well thought out and perfect. Warm and cozy. Very clean and kept up. Comfy beds! Great views, as it’s situated perfectly on the Canal. Off the highway, so it’s also quiet. Plenty of activities to entertain you. Highly recommend.
Waking up to that vow was amazing
What a terrific spot on Hood Canal! Peaceful and quiet, with a fantastic view. Jay’s home was super clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed inside and out, including the kayaks, which we enjoyed. We had a great visit and will be back!
Jay is a true SuperHost! He was easy to get in touch with and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The house is amazing and well thought out. There are kayaks and boats to use on the waterfront and he even stocked wood and everything needed for a fire in the waterfront fire pit. The big king bed is super comfortable and seeing the sunrise through the big windows was a treat. Also, he left some treats that we absolutely used while hiking -- and fresh flowers on the table. We enjoy seeing a new place every year, but this is a place I would return to! Don't forget to look for the starfish from the kayaks at low tide!
Calm, relaxing water scenery. House was comfortable, very clean, organized and had everything we needed. Enjoyed seeing eagles, seals. Would highly recommend renting again.
First getaway in 4 years for just my wife and I. This place was perfect! The house is beautiful, the views even more beautiful. Nice kitchen with everything you need. Off of 101 enough that while inside you didn’t hear any street noise. Comfortable bed. Only complaint is we didn’t see any whales, but we found a friendly seal who played with us while we kayaked.
The property was as described. The view is gorgeous and the property was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and we Enjoyed eating outside on the patio. We’re a group of seniors so the stairs proved a little challenging. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This was our first Vrbo and we weren’t sure what to expect, but we loved the location and how it matched exactly to the listing. Easy use of kitchen as all the necessary items were available for use. We loved the area and the closeness to hiking trails and the use of the kayaks.
