Honey’s Haus – 1930's Charm Just Minutes from Main Street

Welcome to Honey’s Haus, a beautifully updated 1930s home that combines the character and craftsmanship of historic Fredericksburg with the comfort and conveniences guests want today. Located in a quiet, established neighborhood, Honey’s Haus offers the unique opportunity to enjoy a peaceful residential setting while remaining within an easy stroll of Fredericksburg’s historic downtown and Main Street.

Step out the door and make your way through some of Fredericksburg’s charming historic neighborhoods toward Main Street, where you’ll find an incredible selection of locally owned restaurants, boutiques, galleries, wine-tasting rooms, bakeries, coffee shops and live music venues. Spend the day exploring, enjoy dinner downtown, catch some live music, and finish the evening with a sweet treat at Clear River—all without having to worry about finding a parking space.

A Home Full of Historic Character

Honey’s Haus is approximately 1,450 square feet and retains the charm of its 1930s origins while offering the updates and amenities expected for a comfortable getaway. Original longleaf pine floors add warmth and character throughout the home, while the thoughtfully updated interior provides a comfortable setting for couples, families or friends traveling together.

The home features a comfortable living room, full kitchen, outdoor sitting area and gas firepit—perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing, shopping or exploring the Hill Country.

Sleeping Arrangements

Honey’s Haus offers three bedrooms and two full bathrooms:

• Downstairs King Bedroom: A comfortable king bed and one of the home's most distinctive features—a beautiful antique clawfoot tub/shower combination.

• Downstairs Full Bedroom: A cozy bedroom with a full-size bed. Please note that this bedroom is accessed either through the glassed-in porch and is the entry for the upstairs bedroom.

• Upstairs King Bedroom: The third bedroom is located in the home's finished half-story and features a king bed. Access via the full bedroom off glass porch. Steep stairs as characterized by early German architecture. Low ceiling along side of room.

With two king beds and one full bed, Honey’s Haus comfortably accommodates a variety of guest configurations.

Two Unique Bathrooms

The downstairs bathroom features an antique clawfoot tub with shower, adding a touch of historic elegance to the home.

The upstairs bathroom includes a jetted bathtub with a handheld shower, providing a relaxing place to unwind after a day spent exploring Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country.

Relax Outside

After a day in town, come back to Honey’s Haus and enjoy the outdoor space. Gather around the gas firepit, relax with a glass of Texas wine, and enjoy the slower pace of Hill Country evenings.

Whether you're spending the day touring wineries, shopping Main Street, visiting museums or simply enjoying time together, Honey’s Haus gives you a comfortable home base to return to.

Explore Historic Fredericksburg

One of the best things about Honey’s Haus is its location. Fredericksburg is known for its distinctive German heritage, historic architecture, exceptional restaurants, boutique shopping and vibrant Hill Country atmosphere.

From the house, you're conveniently close to Historic Main Street, where you can spend hours browsing unique shops, galleries, antique stores, tasting rooms and locally owned restaurants.

Nearby attractions include:

National Museum of the Pacific War / Nimitz Museum
One of Fredericksburg's most important attractions, the National Museum of the Pacific War tells the story of the Pacific and Asiatic-Pacific theaters during World War II and is a must-see for history enthusiasts.

Pioneer Museum
Explore Fredericksburg's German heritage and early Hill Country history through historic buildings, artifacts and exhibits spread across a beautiful downtown campus.

Marktplatz
Located in the heart of downtown, Marktplatz is home to the iconic Vereins Kirche and serves as a gathering place for festivals, community events and seasonal celebrations.

Historic Main Street
Enjoy more than a mile of shopping, dining, wine tasting, antiques, art galleries, bakeries, coffee shops and entertainment.

Fredericksburg Wine Country
Fredericksburg is surrounded by the Texas Hill Country Wine Trail, with numerous award-winning wineries and vineyards located along Highway 290. Spend the day touring tasting rooms and return to Honey’s Haus to relax by the firepit.

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
A short drive from Fredericksburg, Enchanted Rock offers spectacular Hill Country scenery, hiking, rock climbing and unforgettable sunsets.

Luckenbach, Texas
Enjoy live music and the laid-back Texas atmosphere of this legendary Hill Country dance hall and community just outside Fredericksburg.

Restaurants, Shopping & Entertainment

Fredericksburg has developed into one of Texas Hill Country's favorite getaway destinations, and much of the experience is found right around Main Street.

You'll find everything from casual Texas fare and German-inspired cuisine to upscale dining, wine bars, bakeries and coffee shops. After dinner, explore the many boutiques and specialty shops or check out one of the local venues for live music.

And don't forget dessert! Clear River is a Fredericksburg favorite for ice cream and other sweet treats—perfect for ending an evening downtown.

A Few Things to Know Before Booking

Honey’s Haus is a historic 1930s home, and some of its original characteristics remain part of its charm.

The third bedroom and second bathroom are located in the home's finished half-story. The stairs leading to this area are the original stairs from the 1930s and are steeper than modern residential stairs. Guests should be comfortable using steep stairs.

Because this is a half-story, the ceilings are lower along portions of the perimeter, and taller guests will need to pay attention to the ceiling height.

The upstairs bedroom and bathroom are accessed by walking through the glassed-in porch. The second downstairs bedroom is also accessed by the glassed-in porch.

These characteristics are important to consider when determining whether Honey’s Haus is the right fit for your group.

Your Fredericksburg Home Base

Whether you're planning a girls' getaway, romantic Hill Country weekend, family vacation, wine-country adventure or simply looking for a comfortable place to experience Fredericksburg, Honey’s Haus offers something special: historic character, modern comforts and an enviable location close to the best of town.

Enjoy your morning coffee at home, stroll into town for shopping and lunch, spend the afternoon exploring Fredericksburg or the surrounding wine country, then return to Honey’s Haus for an evening around the firepit.

At Honey’s Haus, you don't just stay in Fredericksburg—you get to experience the charm of the town from a home that is part of its history.

The location was the best, and we had plenty of parking. It was nice and clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was small, as shown; however, we just made coffee, so it was perfect for us. We will definitely be recommending this house to friends and family.

Location was great. Owner communication was great. House was perfect for our wkend away. Loved the firepit & sun room. Be aware that 3rd bedroom & 2nd bathroom are on 2nd floor that is up very steep stairs (original to 1930s home) with very low/angled ceilings. Upstairs bsthroom only has tub with handheld shower sprayer. Not easy to get in & out of. 1st floor bathroom had shower in beautiful claw foot tub, but again, not easy to get in/out. All 4 of us are in 50s & in ok shape but all commented on struggle with bathing.

We enjoyed our stay at Honey Haus. The house was comfortable with enough space for our family. The attic suite was unique. We loved the location because it was just a few blocks from Main Street. The road noise along Travis can be a little kid when falling asleep or waking up, but a white noise app helped. We would stay here again!
