Holiday Home 'Maison-Grotte De Conte De Fées' with Mountain View, Private Terrace and Wi-Fi

This small but charming cave house has been described as one of the loveliest properties in Provence. The view from the terrace over the village of Cotignac and of the Massif des Maures is breathtaking. Eagle owls nest in the cliff above. Accommodation is on 3 levels. Kitchen, dining and living area on the middle, mezzanine bedroom above. The house is unsuitable for frail or unfit individuals due to lack of parking and steep climb. Steep boat steps to the bathroom which is downstairs. Pleasenote this is an adults-only property.



The space

Access is up 12 stone steps from a public path. On this level is the living area and, up 3 steps, the fully equipped kitchen and dining area all cut into live rock (beautiful oak dining table) and access to the balcony terrace with its breathtaking views over the village and the Massif des Maures. A moka coffee machine is provided for your morning brew. Downstairs (steep boat steps with 2 grab rails) is the bathroom and off that a small painting studio. The bedroom is above on mezzanine level. The rock here has been rendered with lime plaster - it's like sleeping beneath a meringue. Gorgeous views from bedroom windows. High-speed WiFi suitable for video calls is available, along with a fan for warmer days. You also have access to both a covered and uncovered private terrace.



Last 2 photos of the exterior are of the little cave apartment where I'll be living for the summer or this space could be available as well which would mean the property would sleep 4 and have extra outdoor space.



Other things to note

The closest parking is about 75m away and access to the house from there involves steep steps and an unmade garden path. Limited shared on-site parking and street parking are available. A shared washing machine is also on site. Eagle owls nest above and the quartier below has residential properties with young children. Constant partying is unwelcome, and events are not permitted on the property.
