Stayed Sep 4, 2024We loved our stay in Luray. Perfect jumping off point for our daily hikes in Shenandoah National Park. The house was located within walking distance from shops and restaurants in Luray too. Hooray for Luray!

Stayed Apr 12, 2024Quaint cottage with comfortable living space and bonus outdoor lounge chairs to enjoy an afternoon book. The property is within 30 mins of hiking trails in Shenandoah National Park. We really appreciated the ability to get to Main Street high end restaurants and an ice cream shop that had delicious flavor choices. We enjoyed ourselves and the owner was quick responding to questions.

Stayed Nov 26, 2025This immaculately clean and coy home has a very well equipped kitchen. We were able to cook the meals we wanted to with ease . There were many thoughtful details throughout the home to make our stay extra comfortable. The location was perfect for everything we planed to do in the area. The host went above and beyond in communicating and helping out when we had a small issue .

Stayed Sep 12, 2025Beautiful little cozy home. Was disappointed that the bath was on a different level than the bedrooms. Difficult for older people. Bath was a bit outdated. Home was well equipped and very clean. Location was great for the wedding activities.

Stayed Aug 21, 2025The location was fantastic, and communication with Dawn was excellent! We had a small hiccup with the central AC, but she immediately went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, arranging alternate sleeping accommodations and having the issue resolved before we returned from our excursions the very next day. She also shared great recommendations for dining and things to do in the area and even let us know about the county fair happening during our stay, which was such a fun bonus.Helpful notes for future visitors:Most shops open around 10 a.m. and close between 3–5 p.m., with many closed on Sundays.Restaurants typically close between 9–10:30 p.m., so plan accordingly. We discovered this after returning late from a hike, but luckily Rancho Viejo Mexican Grill & Cantina was still open—and it was excellent! The service was fast, the California burrito was enormous and delicious, and the prices were very reasonable.Gathering Grounds is a must for coffee lovers and also offers great breakfast. If you plan to visit the Chop House Bistro, make reservations early—slots fill up quickly.Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better host or a better location for our stay!

Stayed Aug 4, 2025Very easy check in, lots of details about opening the front door so we felt confident getting in! House was easy to find. Smell of cigarettes when we entered was unpleasant (and the host was rather defensive when i mentioned it) but it cleared with opening windows and i found air freshener in the bathroom. House had everything we could need for our stay and felt clean. Soft, comfortable bed. All light switches and lots of other things labelled to make it easy. No blackout curtains so bring an eye mask if you need darkness in the summer. I slept through the passing train noise overnight but it did wake our son once. Checkout straightforward. I thanked the host in a message and received yes as the only reply which I found odd. Location is fantastic, walkable to everything in the town. Check out Broad Porch for breakfast, excellent coffee and food! We'd stay here again.

Stayed Apr 12, 2025House was great and super comfortable/cute. within walking distance of Luray Main Street and all the restaurants we wanted to check out. Also only 5 min drive from the caverns. It is right across from a cemetery, which you can see from inside, looking out the windows. Just to be aware of if that’s not your style. Sheets were very soft and pillows were really nice. Everything - parking, check-in, check-out, location was super easy. And helped make for a great stay

Stayed Nov 29, 2024Hubby and I were in town for a wedding with our 21 year old son. We were walking distance from some great local stops and just a short drive from anything we needed and plenty to do. Next trip we’d like to take advantage of hiking options we didn’t have time for this trip. Sooooo much better than a hotel, this place is loaded with character and comfort touches a plenty and provided everyone a nice balance of privacy and togetherness! Great stay!

Stayed Aug 14, 2024My husband and I decided to take a quick trip to the caverns and I chose this house because I love the character of older homes. The pictures don’t do it justice! The charm and decor, along with the modern renovations made this farmhouse MORE than perfect! It was centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, a brewery and many small specialty shops that we fell in love with. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!
