THE SPACE
Front Porch:
The exceptionally large front porch offers a wonderful view of the street and trail access point. It's sheltered by large maple trees most of the day. It is very relaxing to sit and enjoy a morning cup of coffee and/or evening beverage at the end of the day when the western sunlight gently hits the porch.
There are 3 Adirondack chairs and table on the east side of the porch. There are also 4 deck chairs and a table on the west side of porch. Everyone falls in love with this front porch!
Off Street Parking:
There is a cement slab that can accommodate 2 vehicles. This is very helpful during winter months when vehicles cannot be on the street during the evenings.
The Bedrooms:
There are 2 bedrooms each with a queen size bed. The first bedroom has a brand new Chicago Bed company bed. It is medium to firm.
The second bedroom has a Restonic medium/firm bed and provides outstanding support. a vanity with mirror, seat and also a 10x lighted magnifying mirror is available.
Both bedrooms have "touch lights" with USB charger and outlet capabilities on the night stands for your convenience.
The Kitchen:
The kitchen and bathroom have been completely updated. The kitchen cabinets are metal dating back to the late 40's and require a bit more effort to open as they are not on rollers. This is a fully stocked kitchen complete with spices and condiments.
The Bathroom:
The bathroom includes a soft mode light above the shower, a heat lamp above the sink and a POWER FLUSH toilet too!
The Sitting Room:
The large sitting room receives beautiful sunlight during the day. It contains a coffee table, 2 long couches and comfortable pillows. Perfect for playing board games/cards/cribbage or simply relaxing in while reading a good book.
The Living Room:
This room is more shaded and peaceful due to the large maple trees in front of the house. It contains and lift table, the TV with Roku, cribbage board, a reclining love seat, recliner and also a Power Recliner!
The Back Porch
Is a common area. When you walk out the back kitchen door you will need to pass through the porch to access the laundry area.
This is also the way you will access the back door to walk down the alley if you wish to enjoy a Wood-Fired sauna!
The Laundry Room
The laundry area is located in the basement. This can be accessed by going through back door of the kitchen, back porch and down the steps. There are actually four machines available for use. A free gas dryer, washer and an electric pay dryer and washer (quarters are available if you choose to use those machines).
The house has character, very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Nicely furnished and kitchen was well stocked with supplies like pans for cooking and baking, utensils, condiments and spices. Hosts were friendly and helpful. I would stay again!
My friend and I stayed here for our February snowmobile trip and it did Not disappoint, Natalie and Bill where great hosts and made sure we had everthing we needed. The house is a half block from the trail. They also had everthing we needed to cook the food we brought and had a spice rack and all the cookware needed. The bed was nice and comfy and plenty of comfy seating in the living areas. We have already talked about booking this house for next year's trip.
Natalie was great to work with and, after my schedule changed due to work, was very accommodating. The place was very clean and located several blocks from downtown, an easy walk. I won't hesitate to stay again next time I'm in town.
We had a great stay at the Yellow House! The apartment was lovely, well-stocked with everything we needed, and perfect for 2 couples. It's also a short walk to downtown. Natalie was very communicative and made it very easy to check in. We would definitely stay here again!
Host was very nice. We were allowed to park the snowmobile trailer in the driveway. House is vintage, cute, unique layout. Snowmobile trail is a block away. Great location. If there was any downside, it’s that you can hear the people upstairs a little bit.
Yellow House is perfect! Visiting my daughter who is renovating her house in Ironwood so my mother-in-law and I stayed at Yellow House. We loved it. Hosts have thought of every convenience you could possibly need. Everything was clean and comfortable. Plenty of room to have our daughter and her partner over for a meal and to watch tv. I’ll definitely be back!
Accomodating hosts thought of everything to make this a very pleasant stay.
A beautiful home with original charm and details. An amazing front porch with mature trees and hosts who were kind, accommodating and available throughout our stay. The Iron Belle trail at the end of the street is a great trail! No air conditioning but with all the big windows around this house and fans provided it was comfortable. Truly a home we would like to visit again.
Beautifully restored lower duplex. Easy walk to town. Off street parking. Comfortable open air porch. Two living rooms, one with TV. Nicely decorated bedrooms with comfortable beds. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.
Natalie and her husband were great hosts! Were available when I texted or called, plus very responsive. We were able to check-in early and had the opportunity for a late checkout. Property was built in the 1920s so it has great charm with modern updates. Kitchen was fully stocked for cooking, including spices. Location was close to everything needed in Ironwood and Hurley. Would highly recommend! Was glad to be their first guests, nice getaway from the Twin Cities hot/humid summers; no a/c but fans and lots of open windows did the job.
Excellent location, short walk to downtown. The apartment was beautiful, kitchen was fully stocked, hosts were responsive, beds were comfortable to sleep in and the front porch had comfortable chairs to sit in to enjoy the nice weather. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
