Really interesting layout, well stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, good heating system. There was some activity outside at night since this is a downtown location, but it was all within reason. Walkable to many destinations in Eureka and to the water. Would stay here again
The house was adorable and felt like I had transported back in time to my grandmothers house ♥️ I loved it!! The house was conveniently located near EVERYTHING! The house manager was accessible and friendly! We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return soon ♥️
It was charming and unique
This was a lovely house that worked very well for our family.
We loved this old house. We felt safe even when we arrived at 10 pm both nights. During the day you do see a few homeless people but California is known for it. We didn’t have any issues with our vehicle, the homeless people, or the house. We slept good, used the showers and bathrooms, and refrigerator. No issues. We can tell there’s a roof leak but it didn’t rain when we were there. Someone patched the ceiling but they didn’t fix the roof leak. I’m assuming they know it’s a rental and the owners are not aware of this.
we spent the weekend here, its a lovely house that sleeps quite a few people. it is clean and has a lovely dining room. a modest but very clean kitchen. this is an older home and the rooms and baths are on the small side. the area does get a little busy (noisy) late night, but it tones down after a while and is manageable. the lack of off street parking kind of bothered us but we found the street parking to be safe, but i wouldnt leave anything in your car here.. jus sayin'.. The park nearby is a real treat and overall we enjoyed our stay enough to say we will be back next year. thankyou so much for the wonderful accommodations. We will be back next year!!
Awesome, unique house. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to stay here!
Interesting, fun place to stay for a few days. All of the Vacasa hosts I communicated with were very nice and accommodating. With that said, the house is very old and requires many renovations. A few things (such as the shower curtains, sinks, some flooring, piping) are broken or falling apart. Some windows were unable to be opened for a breeze and most of the windows could use curtains for some privacy and to block out the sun in the morning. The lack of toilet paper quickly became an issue, so we had to buy some of our own and resupply the bathrooms. The water pressure was also too high in the pink shower and the cold and hot faucet were reversed in the other shower. We tried our best to help preserve the nice wooden furniture, but had to improvise with paper towels due to no coasters being available. It was nice they had some spices for us to use and a full kitchen so we could do some cooking. The stove and oven were very confusing at first and limited in functionality, but we managed to figure them out enough for our cooking and baking needs. We appreciate the stay, but quite a few unexpected compromises had to be made throughout our overall nice visit to Eureka. Thanks for listening!
I have to say that for all the places I have rented over the years I am most dissatisfied with this house for the price. The washer doesn't work on cold water. There are adult games in the sitting room. The curtain in the common shower does not go far enough around to properly contain the spray. There is a cable box but no cable subscription. The disk drying rack was stored on the floor so we didn't use it. And there are homeless sleeping on the porch. There are people smoking crack in front and on 3rd st. I have young daughters and did not like feeling that it might be dangerous. We saw on multiple occasions people smoking crack directly in front or on the front walk of the property and on the side yard. The idea of standing outside on the porch was completely out of the question. When we arrived the front porch had a blanket on it and toilet paper on the steps and trash on the walkway up to the property. The smell of Clorox and pine-sol was so prominent that the only conclusion is that they had to wash away the smell of urine. I have pictures of the porch and video of the person smoking crack and then acting strange and rummaging through the recycle bin. After seeing that I tried to find another location to stay but nothing was available on such short notice. The character of the house is wonderful however it is not family friendly. Great for a business meeting or a bachelor party
Old and historical, across the street from The Carson Mansion. Definitely does not have all the conveniences of a more modern home, but that is traded by charm.
