The Neighborhood:

Raton is a peaceful, unassuming town where time seems to have paused, leaving behind the noise and rush of modern life. Here, you can step back into a simpler era, where the charm of a quaint, close-knit community shines through.

Nestled amid stunning natural landscapes, Raton offers an ideal setting for outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The area boasts breathtaking views of the Capulin Volcano National Monument, an extinct cinder cone volcano that provides a glimpse into the region’s dramatic geological past. The historic Raton Pass, once a critical route on the Santa Fe Trail, is steeped in stories of exploration, trade, and Western adventure.

Strolling through Raton’s historic streets, you’ll discover a blend of vintage architecture and local charm, with opportunities to explore unique shops, art galleries, and cozy eateries. Whether you’re hiking the rugged terrain, learning about the town’s vibrant history, or simply savoring the slower pace of life, Raton invites you to experience its timeless beauty and welcoming spirit.

The FranklinFab co. Gallery is in a R2 zoning district. Commercial/residential. Meaning there are homes as well as businesses nearby. It sits right on the Main Street through town and can be a little noisy during the day from traffic, it usually quiets down around dark. Since it’s on the Main Street, it has easy access to restaurants, parks, hiking trails and the interstate (just .5 mile away) we’re very easy to find!

Getting Around:

There are parks, restaurants, breweries, train station, historic downtown and hiking trails all within walking distance. We have plenty of off street parking (even for oversized vehicles or trailers) The neighborhood is an eclectic mix of industry, restaurants, vintage buildings and service stations, all just a few minutes drive from beautiful countryside and nature just outside of town.

Other Things to Note:

There is a Blackstone grill on the patio in the back yard. We keep it locked up to keep critters out. If you'd like to use it please let us know and we will get you access.

Interaction with Guests:

We have 3 separate listings on the property which are all available to guests. They are separate, private and each unique and cozy! We are very engaged, easy to reach and always striving to make this a great place to stay, a home away from home. Text messaging will get a response quickly. We’re here to help!

If you have a larger group please reach out about booking 1, 2 or all 3 properties. It is a great space for that!

Thank you for choosing The Queen Anne Art Gallery House. Whether you’re here to immerse yourself in history, discover vibrant art, or simply relax, we hope your time here is as inspiring as it is comfortable.

Once I grew accustomed to the size, it was great. It took a conversation with Nathaniel to understand the lower level art showroom. Eager to see entire property.

This gorgeous old home was the perfect base for us to hike and explore the area. Super clean with great attention to detail. Beds were very comfortable and the washer/dryer was a plus. The location was walking distance to town; the property and yard were immaculate. Nathan was an awesome host!

The property is pretty cool and because of it’s built it’s like walking down history. The house is what you see. The steps kinda creek as you go up to the second story but it’s just its authentic feel and vibe. Not gonna lie at first my wife was a bit scared she felt it was kinda creepy but it’s just cause the town is not what we are used to and it’s a bit less habited. The only thing I wish it did have was access to the kitchen. For example if you were doing a long stay y oui may want to cook something. We were just there as passing the night before getting to Colorado for that it was perfect cause we just had coffee and sandwiches in the morning before leaving. Overall I did enjoy it and the first floor is filled with great art.

The Second Story is a beautiful old home right on the main drag on the south end of Raton. Traffic was a little noisy at times but not much of a distraction. We had the entire second floor that has a sitting room with a great easterly view of the mountains and mesas that that made for wonderful sun and moon rises. Great little restaurants all over town, which you'll need because there is only a small refrigerator and coffee maker. We had a very nice stay and will be back at the Second Story when visiting Raton, NM!
