Stayed May 9, 2024My daughter graduated from UNC Chapel Hill. We had 12 people. Two grandmothers over 75, with one bedroom on the ground floor and a foldout, all the rest are down steep stairs. That wasn't completely clear, but it worked out ok. There are trundle beds and a futon plus the beds and the foldout that total 12 sleeping, but the advertisement did not explain that very well. Some family traveled from NM and some from AL and SC. The porch and kitchen were great for socializing and there were also plenty of private rooms to get some space from the crowd. The house was very nice and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils and pots and pans. The parking is minimal, but we were aware of that. Street parking was not a problem. The host was very responsive when called and messaged with a few questions. It is not far from the airport. All in all, it was a great family reunion for the graduation. I would highly recommend this VRBO!

Stayed Mar 10, 2024Family gathering in Raleigh was delightful. 8 immediate family members, all adults, enjoyed our stay in the Old Schoolhouse. Mid-March evenings were warm enough to spend in the outdoor screened-in porch — everyone enjoyed the gatherings we had at the house. The kitchen was very well stocked; we cooked several large meals at home… to everyone’s delight. The small wine fridge in the kitchen was a nice touch. The high ceilings of the first floor were magnificent. Finally, the location to a commercial district was really convenient. Restaurants were a few block walk away, as were several hair stylists and barbers! Answers to our questions about the house and our stay were always answered promptly. Great trip. Great stay. Thank you.

Stayed Nov 3, 2023The Old Schoolhouse is now on our top five list of favorite spots to stay! This house is in a beautiful, walkable neighborhood, near a few restaurants, bars, and shops. The walk to downtown is about 20 minutes, and you will find more there to explore as well. We very much enjoyed our wandering and even got to buy a few Pokemon cards from the the neighborhood children...their version of a lemonade stand! The house is SO charming and very comfortable with plenty of space for the seven adults who were there. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, with lots of glassware, utensils, pots and pans. One note, if you like to use spices in your cooking, be certain to bring your own. Being that it is an old building, the shared bathrooms had some funky configurations, adding to the interesting architecture. Be sure to knock first! Everyone said their bed was comfortable and all slept well! The light in the house is glorious and the afternoons we spent on the back screened porch was a great way to pause and relax before our wedding activities. Clint was readily available for any issue, and he responded right away with answers to questions or needs. (I locked myself out-my doing!) Thank you for creating such a special place to serve as our home for the long weekend. Should we return to Raleigh in the future, we will certainly stay at the Schoolhouse!

Stayed Sep 20, 2023First time visitors to Raleigh and found this first rate gem. New to the VRBO market, our host went overboard to make sure we had excellent accommodations, provided helpful recommendations appreciated by this newcomer, and made himself readily available for any questions we had. The schoolhouse was beautifully converted into a cozy home while retaining valuable pieces of the original structure. The location was incredibly convenient to the best features of Raleigh which were either walkable or within a very short car ride. This home comes highly recommended!
