My sisters, mom, and I picked this two-story home for our annual weekend getaway. It had plenty of room for all six of us to play games at the dining table and catch up in the comfortable fireplace room. The eat-in kitchen was big enough for several of us to cook without missing the conversation at the kitchen table. When we didn’t feel like cooking, it was just a five-minute drive to downtown Marion. Too bad it was so cold, or we would have sat outside on the huge porch or taken advantage of the huge fire pit. We would definitely book this property again.
We had our annual family gathering at this property. It was a great experience for all. We made use of the Stable for our meals and gathering times. Very nice. We had 27 for our Thanksgiving meal and there was plenty of room. The house is very well furnished. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen met our needs. I highly recommend this property for your next stay.
Clean with comfortable beds. Hosts seemed accessible and easygoing. Loved the deer on the property, the quiet, the ambience, and the accessibility to everything we needed. My only complaint was that the house was only at 57 degrees when we arrived and, as old houses do, needed several hours to warm up.
The home is very nice, clean and spacious. They have done a great job turning an early 1900’s home into an enjoyable place to stay with everything that you may need. We had 8 total guests, and there was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and hang out. Highly recommend the home, and John was very responsive to any questions that we had. Thank you!!!
This house was built in 1910. It is gorgeous inside with much of the original woodwork and oak floors and is furnished with beautiful pieces from that era. Even though this property is within city limits, we felt like we were staying in the country. Our host, John, was very kind and accommodating and easy to reach if we had questions. We would definitely stay here again
I stayed in this house with a group of my girlfriends from school. We all grew up in Marion and no longer have parents living in our hometown. The house has been around for over a hundred years and has always been one that I loved. It did not disappoint. The host was responsive and carried a positive tone. This is a house we would stay in again.
Came to visit my grandson in College.Perfect place for our family gathering.& college friends over for a home cooked meal.
Place was great for our needs. Had all the essentials and close to everything. The host was great and checked in regularly to ensure we had no issues. Really enjoyed the yard and quiet neighborhood. Will stay again if in the area.
This is an excellent place to stay for those family gatherings - Loads of room to spread out - inside and outside. The house is gorgeous with so much charm, it’s clean and updated with everything you might need. There is an awesome fenced in area for your dog to run jump and play. Hands down one of our favorites. We hope to stay here again!!
The historic farmhouse was spacious - both the house itself and the grounds on which it stands. Twice daily, a doe and her two fawn ambled across the spacious yard, grazing as they went. My German guest were especially thrilled with this experience. We all loved the wrap-around porch which offered a terrific panorama view of the yard, one which many games of cornhole were played! What an excellent experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nice temperatures, sitting on the front porch early in the mornings drinking coffee and watching the rabbits run around was a great way to start out day.
Great memories were made at this charming farm house. We enjoy the home very much, lots of room to spread out and enjoy. All of the China dishes we fun to see. We all had fun playing games in the beautiful yard. We loved the fairy garden. I microwave was not used, quite dirty inside.
We came to Marion for our son’a college graduation. The house was perfect for both our stay and gave a great backdrop for photos with family and friends. The house was roomy, clean and unbelievably cute. We could not have asked for a better place to celebrate.
