This home has the best furnishings of any short term rental we've ever stayed in. Eclectic, international, vintage, and very comfortable. Everything - art, furniture, and ammenities, down to the table coasters are well thought out and stylish. The bed was comfortable, and the neighborhood quiet. The host was immediately responsive. We highly recommend this home.

No clear directions as to where to park, entry to the house was on the side where, supposedly, we were not supposed to park. code for house not given until approximately 1/2 hour before check in time, outdoors had overgrown weeds and a dirty blanket on a rusted bench, no WiFi code or check out instructions, dirty and rusted drip pans under burners, coffee stain on cupboard door, sticky substance on place mats, debris in freezer, curtains held together with tape, tooth brush holder unsanitary, candy wrapper and candy stick under couch cushions (we were attempting to fluff the sagging cushions to make it comfortable to sit on when it was discovered), both tissue boxes were completely empty and there was no shampoo, body wash or a hair dryer, which are fairly common amenities. With the exception of clean bedding and adequate cookware, this is not a place I would reserve again.

The house was clean and close to the downtown area. The house was nice and updated inside but the furniture needed to be upgraded. I understand the idea of the house being historic but the furniture was uncomfortable to relax on.

Wonderful! A little warm and very quiet in the bedrooms so maybe a standing fan in each room would be helpful but besides that, what an awesome property!

The space was lovely. I enjoyed all of the live plants and artwork. The living room furniture wasn't very comfortable, but it looked nice in the space. There was no hair dryer- not good when it's cold outside, but the house was clean, the beds comfortable, and the house in a great central location for sight seeing.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this house and the host. My husband and I have traveled a fair amount all over the US. We have stayed at some really cool, unique places. This by far takes the cake as our favorite. The historic property has been lovingly restored by the host and filled with gorgeous antiques. It's like stepping back in time or staying at a museum. The place is absolutely enchanting! We liked it so much that we added another day to our stay. Don't worry there's modern amenities like wifi and TVs. However, we didn't feel the need to use them. The host is very nice and knowledgeable of the history of the home and items in it. He was quick to respond and kind enough to accommodate the additional night on short notice. We fell in love with this home and the town of Hannibal. We are definitely coming back as often as we are able. Highly recommend!

we really enjoyed the step back in time that the historic house offered especially as it has been modernized to have all the amenities of a modern home. and then to have it within walking/short driving distance to many of Hannibal's historic locations was a real plus. we highly recommend to home to enjoy the quaintness and history of Hannibal.

This house is incredible! The art is beautiful and so much of the furniture is amazing as well. Great kitchen, well stocked. I really appreciated the ice spheres for my whiskey. Very easy access to downtown and other attractions. We enjoyed walking the block and seeing the other houses being renovated. Really wonderful stay. My only complaint is there wasn't enough info about the house. It's an 1830s house and I'd love to know more about it and the renovations/history. But that's just me being a nerd.

This was an amazing place. Comfortable, relaxing, and homey. The furniture is beautiful. The plants are real. I long for a sense of place with history and character, not plastic flowers and indescript mass art. This house checked all tbose boxes. We liked it so much that we quickly reserved a stay for our return trip. This will be our go to everytime we go to Hannibal which is our favorite stopover on our way to Chicago. Mark Twain soul is so refreshing. The people of Hannibal make me feel apart of the community despite being a traveler. Its my favorite stopover anew favorite place to stay!
