Alamogordo, New Mexico
Unique, historic adobe 2 bedroom, 1 bath casita right in the heart of Alamogordo. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. This casita is next door to a beer & wine garden which we own as well. There is potential for noise during business hours. We hope you will come over for a nice glass of wine or beer. This space is perfect for TDY stays. We do rent this space nightly but prefer a longer term stay for Holloman personnel. We will work with your housing allotment. If you re interested in viewing this space message me for an appointment.
I could hear the rodents running around, they even ate some food that was left out. Too close to the train tracks. Very bad communications on how to enter the unit
This was a lovely place to stay! It was clean and had lovely New Mexico vibes. My only complaint was the noise around the property. The bar next door played very loud music until almost midnight on one of the nights we were there and there is a train close by. I can sleep through anything but it kept my friend up. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise!
Stayed here just for the weekend and loved it . The bar being right next to the house Actually wasn’t a problem at all I expected to have trouble sleeping but I didn’t have trouble one bit . This placed exceeded my expectations .
This place was cheaper than and much more interesting than the Motel 6 or any other cheap stay in Alamo. Loved the Casita! The inside is nicely done. The furniture was shabby chic very nicely done. Kitchen has full sized sink and fridge, but only a portable 2 burner cooktop, so eat out when you can. Know that there is a wine bar next door and they are like noisy neighbors till midnight. Didn't really bother us because we're nigh owls. Just be aware. The bed was really comfortable! This place was built in 1930... they don't have closets. There's a place in the front bedroom to hang stuff, but would have been nice to have someplace in the back bedroom to put your stuff. We put a suitcase on the piano stool (no piano, just the stool) in the back bedroom. My only real beef was the parking. There are spaces next to the front door, but when the wine bar next door is open there is absolutely no room to park. We parked in a lot next door, then watched the front to see when someone vacated a spot rushed around to grab it. Everyone associated with the property was very nice, and helpful.
Pefect fpr what we needed
The stay was very nice good location.
Poor location; the property is in a very industrial area. We knew it was located near a train track, but didn't know it was next to a bar/food-truck restaurant. It's near historic downtown Alamogordo but much of that area contains closed and boarded-up buildings. The property was neat but dirty; couch arms, silverware and glasses (that I had to re-wash in order to use), shower floor (slimy). The furniture is old and worn; thrift-store-like. A couple of light bulbs were burnt out; overhead and night-light. The freezer has a fair amount of rust in it. The towels were ok but the washcloths were basically rags; threadbare and worn. Window coverings are plastic or cheap curtains, and some of them were missing operating hardware (i.e., on one I could open the louvers but I couldn't raise it up). We ended up only staying one night; first time this has even happened after renting many rental properties over the years. It's overall prior 4.5 rating well exceeds our personal experience; we were disappointed.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The place was very clean/quaint and fit right in with the local area. There is a beer/wine garden next door..we did not have a chance to visit but it did not interfere with our visit or sleep. Communication with host was very quick and helpful!
My sons and I stayed two nights. Great location. Very clean. I highly recommend this property!
Very nice, very clean. My only complaint was Friday night after the bar closed the employees had a party until 4 AM and on occasion were very loud and shouting. Disturbed our sleep. Robin the bar manager was very friendly and helpful especially loaning us some cream and sugar when we got in too late to go buy some ourselves. Lovely city. Holland's
There were two problems with this place. 1) The satellite tv was not working (not a big deal) 2) The beer garden at this residence. It is new and the owners are learning. The outdoor beer garden is right outside the windows of the casita. Music and noise from the patrons are an issue. I'm not much of a drinker so wasn't thrilled with it being so close. Parking was full every night when we returned from our days activities. All in all, was still a nice place to stay and the price was very nice!!
