Hawaii County Restrictions:
- Quiet hours shall be from 9:00PM to 8:00AM, during which time the noise from the rental shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors
- Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area
- Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area
- The short-term vacation rental shall not be used for commercial purposes
The beach park across the street was lively, but quieted down before closing. The local people were warm and friendly, with lots of families including grandparents and little kids. The water was clear, and calm within the protection of the coves.
The house is very nice. It has everything you'd need. We did a lot of cooking at the house. The kitchen was well appointed. However there was not a dishwasher. The two bedrooms are very small. They are fine for sleeping but very cramped. There were just two of us so it worked out fine. It would be cramped if 4 adults tried to share the house. The bathroom was on the smaller side. Not much room on the vanity. The shower was roomy and had good water pressure. The property was very well maintained and right across from the beach. Very pretty view. Beautiful big porch to sit on. I wish the outside chairs were more comfortable. One downside of the property is the house next door. There were two big dogs that barked a lot. Fortunately they were brought in at at night time so that wasn't a problem. But they started barking early. We were gone most of the day sightseeing so it wasn't too bad. If you were to spend a lot of time at the house it would get annoying to hear the dogs barking. There is not A/C. Just fans and open windows (which contribute to noise).
We had a wonderful stay. Across the street from the ocean, listing to the waves at night was perfect. We spent most of our time on the lanai. Such a wonderful place to relax.
Stay here if you have the opportunity. Very comfortable local-style home with modern amenities. A historic location, vibrant, and relaxing. Listen to the waves at night and see the sunrise in the morning.
What a great place to relax and go snorkeling. The place is immaculate. Clean, great view, and the host is awsome. If your on the big island this isbthe place to stay.
Property was exactly as described. Work perfectly for our visit to family in the area. Will be back.
Exactly as advertised. Perfect location for visiting the Hilo area with Leleiwi and Richardson Parks across the street. Close enough to downtown to pop in for meals yet far enough out to avoid the congestion.

If you're looking to get away from the touristy side of the island, this is the place. Our family of 4 had a very relaxing 5 days in Hilo before we headed to Kona. The location was great because it was close enough to drive to downtown, but far enough to get away from the activities. The beach parks were all within walking distance or drive if you wanted to go further. The house itself was extremely clean and comfortable. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck while our daughters played in the large backyard. A couple of issues: 1. Their neighbor had their dogs out on the first night and were barking until their owner came home at midnight. 2. On the second night, one of the smoke detectors went off at 4 AM. However, Thom was very helpful and replaced the battery in it when we called him later in the morning. Overall, we had a wonderful time and recommend this home.

Enjoy it very much. Well lighted and always felt very secure. No A/C or Heater but, didn’t need it. We will rent this place again if the weather is right. ???
