A little outdated and grimey. Feels like going to grandmas house. But a nice quiet neighborhood!
Loved this place. House was very clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. Neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. Loved sitting outside at night and stargazing. Would definitely rent this house again.
It was a convenient/quiet location (except for the koki frogs). It brought back memories (growing up in the area) and having friends that lived on the street.
We had a great stay in this lovely Hawaiian home on a quiet street minutes from everything we wanted to do in Hilo. The house had huge windows and a great breeze even though it was a raining several days of our visit. The beds and furniture were tasteful and comfortable with large rooms. The back yard had a wall of vegetation which made it private and so quiet. Covered parking was really appreciated in the rain. Thom was so kind and offered insight and advice about the Big Island. He was flexible about check in and check out.
When we first arrived, I wasn't sure if I would be comfortable in this house but I soon grew to love being here. We had a staycation in Hilo and loved it. My favorite moment was when a waitress at Hawaiian Style Cafe told me to bring my Tupperware next time to pack my leftovers. So I'm guessing staying in a residential area made me look and feel like a local! Also, I know that many people commended THOM for all he did to make our stay even better.
Needed a last minute place to stay while visiting family. Remembered we stayed at this location in 2022 and loved it! Booked it and within days we were checked in and extremely comfortable. Always cozy and clean. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Mahalo, Thom!
This property was Perfect. Very cozy and quaint. House was very clean as well. Perfect location near Hilo town and airport. Neighborhood quiet and safe. Host was very communicative and accommodating. Will definitely book here again.

Quiet neighborhood, with quick and convenient access to Downtown Hilo and neighboring areas. This is an older home, with some cool, unique touches. Very good airflow. The house is a little musty when closed up, but cleared out quickly with the windows. Nice yard, with a cozy table area off from the kitchen. Good kitchen for cooking in, and a nice dining area. Very comfortable for our family.

A great weekend in Hilo. The home is perfectly located in Hilo. It is minutes away from the grocery store, Target, Walmart, and the mall. It is about 10 minutes away from Edith Kanaka’ole Tennis stadium, the Hilo Civic and downtown Hilo. The house is nostalgic and brought back great memories of my childhood. It is comfortable, spacious and had all the necessities. The WIFI is fast and there is a desk area, if you need to do any work while on vacation. The neighborhood was quiet. The yard is huge and fairly distanced from neighbors. Thom is a great host. He was attentive and quickly responded to any correspondence I sent out. The home was ready well before the check-in time and with the keyless entry, it was convenient.
Mahalo to Thom for being an exemplary host! The house was cozy, comfortable and exactly what we needed for a week on Hawaii Island! We absolutely loved the location with it being close to UH-Hilo, shopping and roadways. We enjoyed our time in the home and hope to utilize the property again in the near future! Mahalo, mahalo!
We absolutely loved our stay in Hilo, including the excellent service offered by Thom. Communication via text was simple, straightforward, and preferred, and Thom recommended several excellent restaurants in the area, including Cafe Pesto and more. Checking in was incredibly easy and could occur at any time (we arrived later in the evening). Very close to supermarket and downtown Hilo, as well as easy access to the main road for visiting Volcanoes Park, Mauna Kea, and others. Full kitchen, as well as a nice living room area to relax in during the mornings. We would definitely stay again - highly recommended!
