Overall a very nice place to stay. Plenty of businesses within walking distance for general shopping and the area isn't as touristy as other major areas in HA. I was able to walk to and from the local grocery stores in a very quick time so I wasnt having to use a rental car to get shopping done Most of all, the home felt like a home not like staying at a hotel which made the stay more enjoyable.

This property was beautiful & very convenient . We really like the spacious areas beautiful set up of the whole house !!! Will definitely stay here again .

There were not enough beds for 9 people to sleep comfortably even though the property advertised so.

Our family enjoyed this home…we are from Kona and traveled to Hilo for the Labor Day Drags! Mahalo for everything! Home was perfect!!!

Maggie is very responsive and communicates well. Booked for some of our employees working off island and I’d say it was a great place as it was requested to stay in the host’s units again in the future. Thank you for having us!

Highly recommend the Hilo Hibiscus Vacation Home for your next stay in Hilo. Easy check in and communication with host, clean, spacious property, and conveniently located near the market and shopping centers. There is a flight of stairs that brings you up to the main living area on the second floor. This property is a relaxing oasis for a family.

The location was fantastic. The amenities were great. Maggie responding to all questions quickly. Loved the big kitchen.

The location was excellent and the open kitchen/dining/living room layout was lovely. The set up is great or family gathering. The marble countertops in the kitchen and bathroom were beautiful. But there were a number of very basic items missing. There was no coffee, tea or any condiments. There were no hot pads, spatula, or tea kettle - some basics needed for cooking. I have appreciated houses with a sweet guest welcome basket with fresh fruit, flowers and snacks. This did not have that AND not even the basics. There was only 1 beach towel and no drying rack or line to hang damp clothes. The green couch in the 2nd bedroom was horribly stained and the bed in that room was very uncomfortable. It was hard on the edges and then sunk in the middle. Both bedside lights in the third room were broken. In the primary bedroom there was only 1 hook for a towel, should add a drying rack or another hook.

Being on the second floor was nice. Got a good view of the neighborhood, including when Manuela's malasadas was open.Very convenient to KTA and the mall.

Beautiful home located conveniently in the heart of Hilo. A clean and spacious retreat for a family. Enjoyed the various seating areas from living room to large kitchen island to outdoor balcony. Outstanding!

Maggie is such a great host, with great communication and smooth check in and. He knout process! The house is so clean and location was perfect for our stay. We will be definitely returning in the future! Mahalo

Had a wonderful stay at this location, very roomy and bright. Rooms were clean and comfortable with lots of windows that made the place feel very open. I was a little concerned with only one A/C unit in the main room, but we actually didn't use it at all during our stay. The location is great and everything we wanted do was a short drive away. One word of caution for anyone with mobility issues, the unit is located up an internal flight of stairs. This wasn't a issue for us but might be good to know for others.

Convenient location, easy online booking and great communication with property manager.

The hosts were fantastic and always responded timely to all questions. They asked numerous times if we needed anything. A couple minor issues with a couple lights and their maintenance person came to fix within a day.We prepare most of our meals while at a VRBO. The kitchen was very limited on baking dishes, saucepans, glasses, cooking utensils. As with most VRBO’s, the knives were not sharp.We didn’t realize the VRBO was located by on a very busy street and intersection. A lot of traffic noise all day and most of the night. We opened the windows at night to cool the home so it was noisy.Grocery stores, a mall, a fresh garden produce stand are all within a quarter of a mile. The other unit neighbors were all very quiet and pleasant. The dryer and washer worked great.We had a pleasant stay and are thankful for our wonderful hosts!
