Although the property was clean and in good condition, there are several notable negatives: 1. The entrance door is directly into one of the two bedrooms and not into a common room. This may make it tricky for couples sharing a unit unless they always enter and exit at the same time. 2. There appears to be little insulation between this unit and the one upstairs. During our stay, the upstairs unit had 20+ people (based on slippers outside the door), with lots of kids running and jumping. The noise in our unit was UNBEARABLE. Noise controls and occupancy limits on units should be in place and enforced. 3. The three beds (two in one room and one in the other) were not comfortable. 4. The air conditioning unit is only located in the common area. 5. The kitchen consists of a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and some basic utensils. There is no kitchen sink. 5. There is a sign in the kitchen saying that alcohol is not allowed, but this is not disclosed at any time before entering the unit.

Easy place to stop and sleep while you’re passing through. Quiet, neat, updated.

Very nice and clean place

Very clean and well taken care of VRBO. We booked this last minute as our other VRBO cancelled on us due to an emergency a few days before our stay. Easy check in and check out and host was easy to communicate with. In a great part of town for visiting attractions around Hilo. We were in close proximity to Rainbow Falls, tour groups for Mauna Kea and the botanical garden (which was amazing). Plenty of food/stores nearby as well. Beach is a short drive and fun to watch surfers at! It is on the bottom floor of a building though and the upstairs group was a little loud but that’s not the hosts fault. But if you’re looking for a completely quiet place be aware that there are people upstairs above the VRBO. Overall a wonderful stay and we were very happy!

Friendly host. Everything was as advertised. Very clean, everything worked well. Good location, comfortable accommodation. It was all good.

Clean, sufficient space. Host was very attentive and patient with our questions. Very quiet area if you decide to sleep in a bit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hop to be back one day.

Clean and has great amenities. Perfect location 5 minutes from downtown Hilo. Host was very pleasant and responsive.

Good location outside of main portion of Hilo .place was as advertised. Great time.

Main room patio door latch didn’t work. Noisy (maybe it was the rain).Felt new. Good beds and shower. I’m glad we stayed here, away from downtown. near a very good grocery store.Would not feel comfortable if stayed downtown due to all the transients.

The property and host was excellent. The problem was this listing it was not clear we were the lower level of a duplex and we had a party of 10 people staying above us and it was very loud. Heard every step they made. Only complaint. Every thing else was great.

We spent 2 nights at Hilo in this cute rental. It had a fridge microwave and coffee maker but cannot cook a meal in this unit as does not have a kitchen. We were aware of this and we were not planning to cook.This unit is modern and clean and quiet. The town of Hilo seems to have a lot of rundown areas and homelessness. That said we loved the Farmers market and waterfalls. The weather was sunny and beautiful. This rental was nice and the neighborhood felt safe.

Location, cleanliness, owner communication made this stay a great one. Love the place and will definitely recommend. Thanks

Everything was easy for check-in and super close to everything we wanted to explore, which was super important for us with little kids. There were only a couple little issues we had. One was that in the bedrooms it did get quite warm, the ac unit is in the living room area and it definitely pushes air out and keeps that area super cold. It was just hard to keep the bedrooms cooled off. The only other issue we had was our unit was below another unit and we could hear every single footstep. The first group that was in there wasn't too bad, however the last day we stayed it was very loud super late at night with what sounded like running around. Other than that, we absolutely loved it and it was super clean which is a huge plus for me!
