Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My group of 5 family members came to Arcata for a college graduation. This house worked out really well for our group.
My husband and our two adult children stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday. We all agreed that the three beds we used were all exceptionally comfortable! Having a bathroom for each room was a bonus. We did more cooking than I might normally on a vacation and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The common spaces were cozy and the entire house was very clean. We would definitely stay here again!
One of the nicest vrbos we’ve stayed in! Beautiful home with great layout, gorgeous mid century furniture, super comfortable beds. Kitchen is clean and well stocked, the deck is lovely and the backyard has its own redwood! The location is convenient to downtown and across the street from a redwood park. We didn’t want to leave!
Literally steps from the Arcata trails and close proximity to the other forests as well as the coast. The home is by far the BEST stocked VRBO we have stayed in. Our family of 5 was very comfortable here. The kitchen had everything needed to enjoy meals at home. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean and well kept. Many books, movies and board games for downtime, as well as 2 lovely outdoor patios to enjoy.
Loved our stay here for a week. Grew on us more each day. By the end it was actually kinda hard to leave. Very well equipped on all levels. Great oven/range and well supplied kitchen and amazing bbq patio under giant redwoods.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The decks and views were stunning and just what we needed to unwind. The home is comfortable with a warm inviting feel, the kitchen was nicely appointed, beds were very comfortable and relaxing by the wood fireplace was heaven! Thank you to our hosts for opening your home to us. It felt like home indeed. I would definitely stay here again if I get back up to Northern CA.
Nice spot, Redwood park is right across the street and it’s also super close to downtown. Would stay again.
We stayed for a baseball tournament for our boys two nights, the kitchen was well stocked for any cooking needs, made the weekend easy, very accessible to town. Fantastic view and such a nice quiet neighborhood. There is limited parking, but we made it work out fine. Thank you to the owners for having such a great place on the market.
The three of us loved it this house and would love to stay here again. It’s nestled into the redwoods. If the ground floor didn’t seem so moldy, it would be nice for another couple to stay in.
We were here for the weekend, scouting apartments in the area for a family member who will moving to Humboldt soon for a job with the University . What a beautiful, clean and well-appointed home in a peaceful , centrally located neighborhood. We even managed to squeeze in a couple of long walks in the forest across the street. Beds were very comfortable. Can’t wait to come back on a less hectic visit. Thank you for this gracious few days.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked the house to spend Thanksgiving weekend with our son. The kitchen is well-appointed- I made Thanksgiving dinner with no problem! The deck is gorgeous and the unseasonably warm sunny weather allowed us to watch the sunset every night. We also walked from the house to the Community Forest. We will definitely stay here again.
We were in town for just a couple of days for my daughter to visit Humboldt. Unlike many sparsely-adorned rentals, this home is extraordinarily cozy and welcoming. Some might say the decor is dated (there was a VCR and landline), but to me, it felt like staying at Grandma's house! The layout is also great. It was perfect for the six of us. And the yard ... OMG! That's the best part. There are two decks, one nestled under a grove of giant redwoods (you could probably sit out there in the rain and not get wet) and another overlooking the ocean. The location is perfect too. It's basically across the street from redwood forest hiking trails and it's just a 15 min walk (through the forest) to campus. If my daughter ends up going to school at Humboldt, we will definitely rent this place again. Highly recommended!
This house worked perfectly for our family. Not only is the location convenient to shops, restaurants and Humboldt County attractions, but it was spacious and decorated with interesting art, plants and MCM furniture. The kitchen was fully stocked. The only off-putting thing was the mildew smell that greets you upon entering the home.
Great location to explore Trinidad, Prairie Creek State Park, Arcata marsh, Humboldt wildlife reserve. Restaurants are close downtown. The neighbors chimney is right at the front living room window, there is an air purifier in the home, we greatly appreciated that as we used it to clear the smoke
The properly was beautiful and very clean! Had all the amenities one could want in a rental house. Backyard is beautiful with an impressive tree with sitting area underneath it.
Me and my wife stayed over labor day weekend and we loved it. House was a bit dated but very clean and great location to a lot of hiking trails. 10 minutes driving to Eureka,40 minutes to redwood national park. We loved how there was a giant redwood tree out behind the back of the house that you could sit next to while grilling out! It definitely set the tone for the area. My wife also loved how they labeled all drawers, and cabinets in the kitchen with just about everything needed to cook with. We will definitely be coming back!
We are a group of three adult brothers and wives who get together every three years to reconnect. This was a great location for things to do and to also have time to catch up on what's happening in our lives. We wish we could have stayed longer than three nights.
Unassuming from the outside this house packs a lot. Three good-sized bedrooms, three bathrooms, and lots of little nooks and social spaces. It seems to span many time periods with encyclopedias from the 60s, a library across the last century, CDs and DVD, but also modern and fast wireless and cable. Delightful outside spaces too.
We really enjoyed our time at the house! We lived the comfort of the home ans being among the redwoods! The kitchen served us well Ans the outdoor patios were great!
Good location for us & for what we planned to do. Walking distance to plaza & college. Close to Redwood Park.
One of the best that Jane and I have been lucky enough to share in. The amenities and the layout of the beautiful home were ideal for 2 couples to be comfortable in. The location between 2 amazing Redwood Forest World renowned destinations and the Aracta Park woods at the doorstep was really ideal!
Loads of room besides the 3 bedrooms--2 sitting areas and a full laundry room. 2 beautiful decks allow for sitting out and enjoying the wonderful environment. Also very conveniently located to Arcata city center, Cal Poly Humboldt campus and access to US 101.
