Hillcrest Hideaway one block from downtown action, dog friendly w/ private yard

Kitchen had everything you would need!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The neighborhood is happening and has lots to do. Great for visitors looking for an area that is close to downtown San Diego. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-appointed with anything we needed. This darling house is within easy and flat walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. Our dogs enjoyed both the front and back yards- although we did have to drive to a dog park in order to have a good ball throw. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you!

It would be helpful to have bathmats in the tubs as they are slippery

Great neighborhood and nice little house, but there were some issues: mattress had stains and no pad, just a plastic cover under the sheets; ice maker did not work; dirty dishes in cupboard; leaky shower head (sprays upward); light bulbs out.

We loved our stay, only thing we wish we would have known was more information about the propertys location and things in the area.

We had issues with the heater and we got a quick response and a quick fix! Parking was a bit tight since we had a bigger car with a car seat but there was nice spots right outside the house too. Neighborhood was nice and quiet at night too.

We decided to stay away from the conference we were attending and were very happy to have found this great house. It was in a very convenient location and the neighborhood was simply charming. So many wonderful places to grab a delicious bite to eat, near Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Perfect.

We had an excellent stay at Hillcrest Hideaway! The house is clean and comfortable! Close to restaurants, Balboa Park and downtown. Excellent communication and response time with host. Would definitely stay there again!

Cute little house and dog friendly.

The house was awesome, location was great we walked to a few restaurants that were just a 2-3 minute walk. The bed mattress's were more like an air bed and not great, but that's the only negative part of our stay

Loved our stay. The neighborhood is fantastic fun and filled with some great food. The home is cozy and comfortable and the location is super accessible to many sites to visit. We would definitely recommend and stay again

Good location for amenities and access to downtown

We've never stayed in Hillcrest before but we were visiting friends in the area. We were impressed with the conviencece to Balboa Park (1 mile to the zoo) and the activity of the Hillcrest neighborhood. The Japanese Garden and the Timkin Museum were lovely, We meant to see a play at the Globe but we were too busy with friends and family. Lots of places to walk and explore including an interesting canyon that is part of the park. Stores and restaurants were in walking distance or short drives. Downtown, the airport and Mission Bay were short drives. The house is as pictured. An older classic California house that has been updated without destroying the historic charm. It was quiet and very well furnished indoors and out. The private back yard and screened front porch were very nice. Having a parking area was a major plus to avoid street parking. We were able to fit a Subaru Outback. We loved walking the neighborhood with our dogs (lots of pedestrian activity and dog walkers). A comment but not a criticism is that I prefer a firm king size bed and the beds were softer queen size. My wife thought they were comfortable. Street noise was not a problem for us but we are early risers. I would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed the area so much we never went to the beach except to drive down at sunset one evening. The host was very responsive to our questions before booking,
