Hill Country Home on the Blanco River, Pool, Hottub, Game Room

Great for our family of all ages!

The property was a perfect size for our family group of 15. It is well maintained, private, and stocked with all necessary kitchen tools. We highly recommend this property.

Three generations of our family, from 1-78 years old enjoyed our long weekend at the Great Escape. The pool, river, game room, and the long porch with the rocking chairs were so appreciated. There was Plenty of seating for meals for the 14 of us. Beds were great. We got to see several deer, ground squirrel, skunk, fox, and raccoon. The kids loved the minnows in the river and our oldest grandson walked to deeper water and caught and released several fish. Thank you for a lovely stay. Ed, Carol, and extended family

Great location, well appointed, quiet and serene setting.Our family included all ages, from toddler up to grandparents, and was enjoyed by all. Highly recommended for access to groceries, wineries, hiking, shopping, and area amenities.Room to spread out and relax by the river, on the porch, by the grill, or by the pool!

We had a great long weekend at this house. It is in a lovely quiet neighborhood but also so close to town that quick runs to HEB or wherever are very easy. The place is amazing - easy access to the Blanco River out the back door, five bedrooms and four full baths in the main house and another bedroom and full bath in the outbuilding/game room, pool, hot tub, pool table, retro arcade video game, shuffleboard, TVs, outdoor gas grill, comfortable furniture, rocking chairs on the back porch so you can watch the deer wander along the river, two laundry rooms, plenty of towels for the pool and fleecy throws, the list of amenities and thoughtful touches is so long there's no way to list them all. And the property manager Shiloh was so friendly, helpful, responsive, and communicative! We had no issues, but if we had I know she would have fixed them right away. This is the perfect place for a large family or group of friends to get together and have a great time in Wimberley.

Perfect relaxing get away for our work group. The back porch full of rocking chairs and view of the deer grazing was a perfect ending to a day of meetings.

The house is very accommodating - lots of beds and a spacious dining area. Between the game room, pool, hot tub and river there is plenty to do. One pre-teen, two teenagers and several adults were all entertained.

Perfect property for a family get together. Great views, wildlife, proximity to town. Plenty of room indoors and out, highly functional kitchen and the game room/xtra living space was big hit. Feed for the deer was a nice touch. Property manager answered all questions (hot tub controls, trash pickup etc.) very quickly. Great place!

Stay with a large multigenerational family. This was a wonderful spot, close to town and plenty of amenities to keep everyone (from toddler to grandparent) happy.

We rented this home for our yearly family vacation and it was excellent. The home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. It was close to downtown Wimberley and about a 20 minute drive to Canyon Lake. The pool was nice and it was great to be able to walk down to the Blanco River behind the property. We were there mid-July and there wasn't a lot of water running through the river but it was fun for the kids to see the little fish, etc. There was also a few families of deer that crossed through the back. The bathrooms appeared to all have been semi-recently remodeled and were super nice. Everyone agreed that we would love to stay here again!

Our extended family stayed at Great Escape for the weekend and had the best time. If you’re looking for an excellent house with tons of space and fun activities this is the place for you. We would absolutely stay there again.

We gathered for a family reunion and this property was perfect for us. Relaxing vibe and we grilled or ordered out our meals. We enjoyed seeing the river and the wildlife. Rooms were comfortable with just the right amount of privacy.

House was lovely with a beautiful yard, pool, cooking patio, and wrap around porches with plenty of amazing rockers to enjoy the Blanco river. Which was a little dry due to Mother Nature. Lots of wildlife travel though the yards awaiting for a treat. The house has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate a large group. There is even a bonus game room with yet another bedroom and bathroom.

This was everything we hoped for and more. We cannot wait to come back!

The house is roomy and comfortable. Just as advertised. Kitchen is so well stocked and lots of space for our groceries. Plenty of dining space and even a game table. Nice big comfortable bedrooms and updated and sleek bathrooms upstairs. The pool and bbq area are perfect for evening cookout and swim. The real kicker is the view of the river and the river spot. Perfect for kids to play in, and adults to lay in. Nice beach area to set up a tent and chairs and spend the whole day there. And the deer and foxes and birds are just mesmerizing. 6 out of 5 stars. I see why people hook the Great Escape over and over each year. We will come again too!

We have a friend’s trip every year in Texas and this year we stayed at the great escape. House is comfortable and well stocked. Plenty of space of 15 of us. Pool was clean and well maintained. The river is a short walk from the house which is great with little ones. It wasn’t flowing very quickly but not the properties fault. We even had a little grey fox playing around on the rocks near the house.
