House was unclean

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The highlands lodge was a good gathering place for a meaningful reunion.The building gets a lot of wear and tear so things like window casements, screens, closet organizers, faucets are a bit beat up., if not actually broken. Not a big deal, and Hauserman was happy to fix,. But it is expensive to stay here, so you might expect much more for the money.

They were very organized and easy to work with. The house is beautiful and was just the perfect size for my family of 9. Everyone got a bedroom and there were plenty of bathrooms. I would highly recommend this rental stay for a big family to enjoy their trip. 10/10

However, I was told by the management office that I would receive a text when the home became available (cleaned and inspected by your staff). We booked that house because my daughter lives directly across the street. She saw the Hauserman inspector leaving the home after the cleaning crew, at 3:00pm. No one notified me. When I called the office to ask for the code since the house was empty and cleaned, I was told by the office staff that the cleaning crew would send the text (they were long gone). So I was disappointed that what you advertise on your web site was NOT what we experienced.

Plenty of space for a large family. 5 bedrooms, 4 baths make for a very livable space. Great kitchen/dining/living open floor plan upstairs. Nice quiet sitting spaces off the living and downstairs bedrooms to get some quiet time to read a book.

The refrigerator and the microwave both did not work. We called right away and they kept telling us it was normal for a fridge not to work for the 1st 24 hours??? Our food spoiled, my daughter got food poisoning and was sick for 2 our of our 5 days. The bedding and towels had stains and crumbs and hair. The carpets smelled like dog pee. The management company kept telling us that the problems were not problems and then told us they couldn't solve the issues even though they knew that there were issues. SO, basically, they ignored our concerns, knowingly allowed us to get food poisoning and then told us they just can't get a fridge or good cleaning crews. If that is the case, they need to not rent the property. It is totally unacceptable to knowingly put peoples health in danger and to also cost them hundreds of doallrs in wasted food.

Easy check in. Accurate listing. Came doing pollen-filled time of year, otherwise everything was great.

The house was a really great size, but it really needs some TLC outside. The railings were coming apart and you could see nails. It was a bit wobbly near the hot tub. The cushions on the outside chairs were falling apart. The chairs are very comfortable but the cushions need to be replaced. We had a great time.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was the 4th Christmas in Tahoe for our extended family. The rental amount for Highland Lodge was twice what I have paid for the 2 previous Tahoe rentals of almost identical size therefore I expected a higher level of quality in furnishings, kitchen equipment, bedding and above all cleanliness. I requested an early check in but was told that there were renters leaving the morning of our arrival and the cleaning staff would need time to clean and Covid cleaning protocols are in place. Unfortunately the cleaning was not what it should have been.When we checked in at 4pm it was apparent that there was very little cleaning that had been done. The area rug in the upstairs living room had been vacuumed, kitchen counters & sink appeared clean and bathroom sinks look clean.TV remotes for each TV were filthy, dust and cobwebs throughout, coffee table was wobbly, hardwood floors and bedroom rugs very dirty, hair & debris in silverware drawer, cookware worn out, we had to slam the microwave door to get it to work, drips down front of stove, hood exhaust fans caked with grease, stair handrails not connected to wall on one end, shower doors filthy, bed pillows completely flat, mattresses worn out, previous renters underwear & socks in dresser drawer, used bandaid found on upstairs master bedroom floor, hair in bathtubs, small couch in downstairs master bedroom disgustingly stained.We had a loss of hot water and the property management/repair staff were extremely polite, responsive and sent a repairman within an hour to resolve the problem.While the property it self is great for large groups until the cleaning issues and upgrades in beds and furnishings are addressed I would not recommend this property. To be fair I sent an email to the property management detailing with photos the issues we encountered to afford them the opportunity to check the property themselves and correct things. I requested a refund of the cleaning fee and was granted the ref

Easy access to the lake and all the amenities would most definitely stay here again
