Step inside the fabulous Washington Square Manor, and you will be instantly transported to a simpler time and place… 1899 Savannah to be exact. This luxury vacation rental has four bedrooms and is ideally situated directly on Washington Square, considered by many to be Savannah's most beautiful residential square.

Washington Square was originally laid out in 1790 with homes dating back to 1797 in the colonial style which was typical of Savannah homes built 200 years ago. The Washington Square Manor was built in 1899 and is one of the “newest” homes on the square. It was built in the classic Queen Anne Victorian style of the period. Washington Square was named in honor of George Washington, Revolutionary War general and first president of the United States. President Washington visited Savannah in 1791 and stayed at a home a few blocks over on St. James Square (now Telfair Square).

Washington Square is your picturesque front yard and features slate walkways bordered with native shrubs and a colorful array of flowering plants underneath a canopy of moss-draped old live oaks. The square is one of Savannah's most popular spots for outdoor weddings year-round. On most weekends, it is fairly common to see brides being delivered to the square by horse drawn carriages.

The property is ideally situated in the northeastern quadrant of Savannah's “Landmark Historic District” – one of the largest areas of its kind in America, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property is located at the corner of two historic Savannah streets – East Bryan Street and Houston Street and within easy walking distance of the entire Landmark Historic District, including:

The home has a historic Savannah floor plan with a side-hall entrance and includes many original features such as plaster ceiling medallions in the living room and dining room, antique heart-pine floors, and plaster walls. The parlor has stunning views of the square and a gorgeous chandelier. The dining room has the companion chandelier and a large dining table for eight. The kitchen features a cozy seating area with one of the five HDTV's found in the home. The kitchen includes a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and double sink as well as granite countertops. In the rear, a charming brick courtyard awaits you and is ideal for your morning coffee or simply relaxing after a long day of Savannah sight-seeing.

The upstairs contains the master bedroom ensuite which overlooks Washington Square and has a balcony that runs the width of the home. The two additional bedrooms have access to a separate full bath with vintage fixtures. A permanent staircase to the third floor attic allows access to the fourth bedroom with a full bed and twin bed. The home sleeps up to nine guests comfortably.

There is a dedicated laundry room on the first floor, as well as a quaint powder room tucked under the main staircase. The ceilings throughout the house are high with crown molding in most rooms. There are five fireplaces with original Victorian period mantles.

This beautiful century home offers everything you could ever want in a luxury Historic Savannah rental combined with the perfect location. Live like a true Savannah native… If only for a short while!

Southern Belle Pool
Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located at 19 Silver Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

The Pool is open during the below dates and times.
March 1 - Oct 31: Open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm.
Nov 1 - Feb 28/29: Open Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm

Additional Pool Hours available during the off-season are listed below. If these dates fall in the middle of the week, the pool will be open as listed below and every Friday and Saturday.

For our long-term stays, 30 days or more, we require a deposit and our office will reach out to you for details. For these reservations, we require an additional cleaning at a cost every 30 days. The cleaning cost varies by property. Our office will be in touch to schedule.

    We rented this home for a girls trip. It was nice to have a communal space for all 4 of us to sit together. We liked the location close enough to walk to all parts of the historic quarter. The instructions sent in the email to get into the home were clear. The living room couch and chair were a little run down. The home was clean and the only supply we found to be missing was Kleenex and some blankets to use while sitting on the couch. I struggled with the primary bedroom shower, you have to pull the handle out and the warm water you turn the handle to the right. I thought it wasn't working so I did end up calling the after hours line and had someone answer and help me figure it out. I appreciated that someone actually answered. The water didn't get hot but it was warm enough for a shower. Another person was showering in the other bathroom around the same time and said that hers was warm too. The bedroom with the 2 beds is actually in a converted attic on the 3rd floor and doesn't have a door, so some of the noise from the second level was able to be heard and vice versa. The check out asked us to start the dishwasher which we attempted to do but found that it wasn't working. I also couldn't locate the garbage cans that I was told were outside to take the inside garbage out. They could also have put garbage cans in the bedrooms, at least the 3rd floor one so that I didn't have to go down to the 2nd floor bathroom. The home is older and comes with that charm.

    We had a girls’ trip and stayed here. The location was amazing!!! The house was large and had enough space for us all. There were some things we wished were there like liquid soap for the bathrooms. But, it was a clean and great place! Would stay there again.

    Great location, nice quiet neighborhood close to River Street and clean. Host answered messages quickly. Beautiful old house with lots of potential. Needs some work/updating. Some of the ceiling lights blink when turning them on and some spots on the ceiling are peeling in a couple of rooms. Broken ice maker in freezer leaks water into the freezer. Host said they will address these issues. Antique sofa and pillows should be refurbished or replaced, as the smell when we arrived was bad. We bought some Lysol spray which seemed to help. We were unable to use the very small dark/shaded back patio area with a mildewy umbrella, wet seat cushions and displaced patio bricks that are a trip hazard. We didn't need the bedroom on the top floor but two of the three bedrooms on the second floor had hard uncomfortable beds. (We are a group 60 years so it might be fine for younger groups).

    This home is beautiful and was easy for us to walk where we wanted to go. We had a small problem with the hot water but the rental agent quickly responded and we were able to fix it. We loved staying here!

    Everyone in our group was very impressed by the house. It’s in a great location, able to walk to many venues or short Uber ride. The only disappointment was that the pool advertised is on Tybee Island which is quite a ways from the property. May be more beneficial to those who stay longer than a weekend.

    This is a beautiful home that my group didn't want to leave! We could all envision ourselves living there. However, a few modifications would be appreciated. Potholders needed in the kitchen, the patio could use a good power wash, and an additional chair or 2 in the living room to accomodate seating for all guests at once.
