HAWK NEST Cloudland Canyon State Park Hiking, Chattanooga breathtaking views

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Hawks Nest Cabin, easily one of our favorite family trips. Even our 5-year-old loved every minute, which says a lot!Dave was a fantastic host; responsive, welcoming, and clearly thoughtful about every detail. The cabin itself had everything we needed and then some, making it feel comfortable from the moment we arrived.The view alone is worth the stay… truly breathtaking and something we never got tired of. It created the perfect setting for a relaxing, unplugged week with family.Honestly, we didn’t want to leave. This is one of those places that sticks with you, and we’ll absolutely be back. Thank you Dave for sharing it with us!

The house was very cozy and quaint. Had a great view and was close to sites! Will rent again in the future.

There were dishes in the drawers that were not at all clean. The grill was not operable. Neither of these things would deter me, because the host was super and the place was very very nice. Location was outstanding. It’s the kind of place I could stay for an extended period.

Host was very helpful with gas heater responded quickly and we were warm in our cabin! Cabin had everything we needed and great location to Cloudland Canyon and Cafe 360. We had a wonderful stay lots of hiking.

We had a great stay here. The owner answered the phone late at night to explain to us how to find the property, which was appreciated. Beautiful views! The only things I’d say is that there were a lot of dead lady bugs on the bedroom floors, and I wish there was better instructions on how to find the property, even when it’s dark. Overall, great experience!

Stay was great. The bed was so comfortable. Love the upstairs view

Great stay. Only complaint was the metal roof - there were acorns constantly dropping on the roof, 1 or 2 a minute, and often rolling all the way down. Not a big deal during the day, HUGE problem when trying to sleep. Acorns on a metal roof are not quiet. Only an issue during Fall obviously, but consider yourself warned you leaf chasers.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The cabin is very cozy and the view is spectacular! Mr. Dave is a great host and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Perfect for watching sunrises and the view is beautiful. The whole place was very clean and the kitchen has everything you need to cook with.

The Hawk's Nest was wonderful. We loved it!

We had a wonderful stay! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the home was spotless and comfortable, and the host was so welcoming and attentive. Everything exceeded our expectations—we would definitely stay here again! If you like to hike, Cloundland Canyon is perfect! You're also just a skip a jump from The incline train that takes you to the top of Lookout Mountain. Take time to check out Rock City. It's best at night!!Once, again... The cabin is a hidden GEM! We loved it. It was super clean and well appointed with everything we needed. It was quiet and the view was AMAZING!! It is close to Chatanooga to do touristy things but tucked away enough to relax and unwind. It is very close to an amazing State Park that has beautiful biking trails. We just cant say enough good things about the cabin and the location.

Enjoyed the hiking trails at clouland canyon, Chickamauga battlfield, event went to Rock city.Last time we were there the boys were 10 and 7, now 34 and 31.Wow how time flys.Dave waa a great host and provides us with a great place to relax and plan future adventures. We very much enjoyed our stay. The property is so close to Cloudland Canyon State Park. Only 3 miles or so. Such beautiful views. It was relaxing to have coffee at the kitchen table and watch the rain clouds drift by.

Property was cozy with beautiful view

My huaband and I had a fabulous 20th anniversary getaway! If you think the views in the pictures are nice, you should see it in person! Definitely a piece of Heaven on top of a mountain. Wonderful place to stay, wonderful hosts, we'll definitely be back soon! Cabin was well stocked with the necessary essentials to cook or grill each night. We felt right at home.

Hawk Nest was absolutely PERFECT for a short Christmas vacation. The views were stunning and the close proximity to Cloudland Canyon State Park made it the best place for my little family!

We had a great girls weekend at the Hawk’s Nest. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. It was a 10 minute drive to Cloudland Canyon and 30 minutes to Rock City & Chattanooga. The views and especially the sunrise from the cabin were beautiful. The owner, Dave, was extremely attentive and great to work with. Five stars!

The cabin was beautiful and perfect for myself and fiancé. We were married not far away at cloudland canyon, so the location was perfect. Dave came by to introduce himself and to see if we needed anything. Overall great stay. Highly recommend. The views from the cabin were amazing.

We had a great stay at the Hawk’s Nest! The cabin was simple and comfortable for my wife and me. Comfy beds, clean bathroom, easy to find, and overall great value! We loved having coffee while watching the sun rise above the cloud filled valley. Stunning views! The proximity to Cloudland State Park was just what we wanted! We were able to drive to and from the park in less than ten minutes, which worked out great. And it was an easy, 30 minute drive to downtown Chattanooga for dinner and an evening with friends. Dave was friendly, responsive, and helpful. Would stay here again!

My husband and I traveled to Hawks Nest for our first getaway together in many years. It was an absolute perfect location with an amazing view. The size of the cabin was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed all of our meals soaking in the view either from the kitchen table or the table on the deck. We were able to see birds, chipmunks, deer and even what we think was a groundhog from the deck. Hawks nest is a perfect location for visiting Cloudland Canyon, neighboring attractions and everyday conveniences. We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to return soon!

Great views! Perfect size place for a small party. The three of us hiked, saw a cave, antiqued, and toured a battlefield all in 2 days. Dave is a great host and we'd love to go back.

Long weekend girls trip. Seen some amazing sites and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Our stay here at the Hawks Nest was nothing less than great. Dave answered our questions promptly and offered great suggestions on places to eat and sites to see. Beautiful views, amazing owners and breathtaking scenery.

The cabin was just so calming and the National Park nearby was wonderful. We got to see a mama deer with 2 babies just within reach of the cabin. The sunrise coming up over the mountains was beautiful, and the dark of the night without the city lights made the stars shine so bright. Ruby Falls, Rock City, Lookout Mountain Clouds rising up from the valley and swallowing up the cabin. Cooking outside on the grill. Interior upstairs/downstairs very nice. Only minus no upstairs facilities. Bedrooms upstairs/bathrooms downstairs. Not a dealbreaker 🇺🇸

Our trip was 4 & nights.The views from the cabin is breathtaking. You feel the warmth & love in the cabin. We met Dave our 1st day. Its nice to meet other Christians. Its close to town & clouudland canyon. We will definitely be back. Gods beauty is all around.
