About this space
Wake up to brisk mountain air with a cup of coffee and moose in the front yard... This house is a sanctuary, ideal for ski trips, hiking, leaf peeping, wine, beer, and cheese tasting, shopping and sugar house adventures.

This is a place to unwind with friends and family. Sit in front of the cavernous fire place and watch the flames twist up the 18ft, handmade, stone hearth.

With three private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a futon, and 10ft dining table, this housecomfortably sleeps and feeds 8.

The space
WINTER: In 5 minutes, you can be on Magic Mountain: North America's 2018 Winner of the Overall Best in Snow Awards, by Liftopia. If Magic doesn't suit you, there are 5 other ski resorts within 30 minutes. Additionally, there is snowmobiling and cross-country skiing within 10 minutes.

SPRING: If you are a real skier, then you already know- you can ski through April in VT. For the rest of us: Maple syrup production is in full swing! The blue lines you see in the woods are running full of cold sap. The sweet maple vapor fills the hills of VT. If you have never witnessed the creation of this elixir, spring is the time for it!!

SUMMER: There are amazing lakeside or mountain climb hikes within 5 minutes of the house. Major ski resorts like Mt.Snow, and Killington open up their trails to downhill mountain bikers. This is awesome if you have never tried it- you can be there in 45 mins. White water (intense)/ inner tube (relaxed) rafting down any of the major rivers is a must. Finally, summer is a cool time to mingle with locals at farmers markets and fairs. The closest farmers market is 7 minutes away in Londonderry- Quintessential VT.

FALL: Perhaps the most magnificent of them all. You are still getting short sleeve afternoons but the frosted-grass bows to winter in the morning. Foliage is peaking and the leaves are alight with orange, yellow and red. I'm not going to list activities, because even changing a tire is pleasurable during a VT fall.

ALL: The town of Manchester is 30 minutes away and has everything you could possibly want: spas, outlet shopping, white table cloth restaurants, wine, beer and cheese tasting, world class golf courses, cute coffee shops, country stores, art galleries all within 30 minutes. Awesome place, super rustic and refined.
Guest access
On the estate there are two properties: this log cabin and a small timber frame loft. While the properties are separated by an acre of forest, they share the same entrance and parking. We ask that all of our guests show mutual respect to one another. Don’t block people in; and respect the privacy of the other guests.

We ask that you refrain from having fires in the small kitchen fireplace, as it is non-functional.

Other things to note

Cabin was difficult to find at night. No bathroom upstairs had to come downstairs to get to the bathroom. Cabin was very well decorated and comfortable other than bathroom issue.

We were completely stranded at 9pm when we arrived because the check in instructions only told us where the key was but there was a keypad as well. It was below freezing temps and we had in and out service. We were exhausted from the drive which took us over an hour over due to a bridge that was undergoing construction about 20 mins from the house. We called and called and texted when our service came through intermittently but the host didn’t answer. The VRBO team couldn’t help us after 45 mins of boing on the phone with them, standing on the front porch because that’s the only place we could get one bar (not a warm car). We completely missed a night in the cabin with our friends who were waiting in their car with this stress. We were given instructions to find a hotel so we drove to 30 mins to Ludlow to get service and book one but they were all booked except a Best Western that was also 30 mins away. As we approached the hotel the host texted the code to the cabin door. We wanted to all be together and didn’t want to sleep in a janky hotel. So we drove back, 30 mins. I am livid that we had to go through this. The photo of the bedroom is inaccurate, there are not two twins, it’s a full. I want reimbursement for the hotel we never used and a full refund with additional key cash to use towards another stay, this was quite frankly the worse check in experience I’ve ever had using one of these booking sites. If it’s on VRBO, and not the host, you guys need to make it right.

We enjoyed our stay for skiing Okemo. The house accommodated us in every way. Our only comment is the pictures do not match the actual bedroom layout. The host was prompt to sort this confusion prior to our stay, however I will share the actually arrangement below to save anyone the hassle: Bedrooms: 2 and 1 lofted above the living room (so not entirely private) Beds: 2 queens, 1 full. Underneath the upstairs beds are two twin mattresses for extra use. Additionally there is a futon and couch (the couch is more comfortable for sleep) Bedroom 1 (queen): downstairs near the kitchen, next to the bathroom. Bedroom 2 (queen): upstairs lofted / mezzanine with small railing looking over living room. Bedroom 3 (full): upstairs, smaller. Also, worth noting the 2nd bathroom is in the unfinished basement, though it is recently refinished.

This property was great! Nice and secluded, super comfortable beds and furniture, and the fireplace was beautiful. One thing to note- the kitchen has the basic amenities (pots and pans, k-cups, oil and vinegar), but that’s it. If you need sugar, foil, ziploc bags, etc, be sure to grab them before you arrive. Not a big deal, but a little less stocked than a lot of properties we’ve stayed in. Overall though, the place is fabulous!

Very clean, well made cabin in secluded area. We enjoyed few days of stay and relaxation in the nature. House has everything you will possibly need. Lisa was very welcoming and just few minutes away to answer any question I had. Will return with pleasure. W

Second bathroom was located in basement, stairs to basement older and steep. Kitchen needs new pans for cooking. Otherwise good place to stay with family.

Very nice property. Had a great week in the cabin. It was good for the 2 of us. The only thing is that the second bathroom is in the basement not in the main living area which would have been inconvenient if we would have had more people staying. It doesn't show that in the add.

We loved being in a cabin out in the country with its peaceful surroundings. The place was very clean and comfortable and we liked having a full kitchen to cook our own meals. The cabin has two bathrooms, and we wrongly assumed that there would be bathrooms on both the main and upper floors. There was, indeed, a bathroom on the main floor near the bedroom, but the second bathroom was not upstairs with the other 2 bedrooms, but in the basement where the washer and dryer are. This may not be a problem for most, but if you have someone in your group who needs to use the bathroom during the night, then it can be an issue. We had not read in any of the reviews that the 2nd bathroom was in the basement, nor was that specified in the description. The cabin is lovely, but we just would have felt better knowing this piece of information. Wood was provided for the fireplace, there were spices and enough cookware in the kitchen, and it was a very comfortable place to stay.

Soothing and relaxing getaway! Lots of rustic charm and solitude, exactly what we were looking for in a quick weekend of viewing the fall fireworks in VT. Lisa’s cabin was exactly as described. Everything we needed was provided for us!
