Guilford, Connecticut
Wake up to birdsong in our 3 bedroom cottage located in the picturesque Mulberry Point area of Guilford. It's just a two-minute walk to the shoreline and one of the town's three public beaches. Our raised deck overlooks a salt marsh teeming with osprey, cardinals, blue jays, hawks, red-tailed hawks, chipmunks, and bunnies; and offers a fall/winter view of the Long Island Sound. A quiet, woodsy trail alongside the house leads to the Tuttle's Point, Mulberry Point, and Indian Cove areas. Walk or drive to Chaffinch Island Park, Guilford's hidden gem, to lounge on the water or bbq. Nearby, is the trailhead to Westwoods, which offers 39 miles of hiking trails. It's a short drive to Branford to catch the ferry to the Thimble Islands, the StonyCreek Brewery, galleries and food, and minutes from downtown Madison, I-95, Hammonasset Beach, Chatfield Hollow State Park/lake, and many hiking trails.
The house has newly-finished oak floors throughout and sleeps five in three bedrooms; one full/queen with half-bath; one queen; and the third with a single bed; all have large closets, and fresh linens and towels. Both bathrooms were recently renovated; full bath has a shower and tub. Our sun-filled living room has a rose granite wood-burning fireplace with an Eames lounge chair for fireside viewing. Fast 5G WiFi supports Netflix and Amazon streaming, plus Xfinity cable package with all broadcast and many cable stations. For music, there's a stereo and an Amazon Echo. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need, including coffee, tea, spices, and cooking utensils, etc. *We don't currently have a dishwasher; if you require one, this house is not for you!* The laundry is also located on the main floor. Downstairs is a 700 sq. foot walkout lightly-furnished basement with 43" Smart TV; bar and outdoor patio. Grill outside on the Bluestone patio. Our location is key; it's a mile from the Guilford Green and another minute's drive to the Shoreline East train station, which travels from New Haven to New London, offering easy access to & from New Haven (16 miles), NYC (2 hrs) & Boston (2 hrs).

We love animals and welcome one well-behaved dog.
We highly recommend this property. Check in was hassle free and property is beautiful! Gorgeous gardens and plants, lovely private deck with gate. Wonderfully stocked with just about anything you will need. Amy was very accommodating and very quick with responding. Would definitely stay here again!
The house is tastefully furnished and decorated. The landscape is fabulous. There was nothing more we could ask for!
What a perfect little beach cottage. Our family very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. Thank you, Amy!
Really loved this place! Perfect location, close to everything. Really enjoyed driving Route 1 and showing my wife and mother-in-law the shoreline towns. Lobster Landing did not disappoint, and having Bishops Orchard so close was perfect. Amy was so easy and professional to work with. Loved it!
This home is the bee’s knees! It’s extremely comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend it!
The Birders Paradise was awesome! We chose it for the location, close to the beach and to Indian Cove where we had family staying. And the description was true about seeing and hearing many birds!! But this home was so comfortable, accommodating and well equipped that it deserves extra kudos! The beds were lovely with nice comforters and super clean rooms. The bathrooms had space to put stuff in the exact right place. There were plugs everywhere to plug in and charge, and the Wi-Fi worked great! In the kitchen had all the pots and pans, sharp knives, serving stuff and spices and sweeteners we could want and not just one but two types of coffee makers. The deck was a lovely place to hang out as the yard was shady most of the day. At night there was a nicely lit path to follow. We brought a dog and there were a couple of surprises for our furry friend. The yard is pretty much fenced in, as is the deck. So we didn’t have to worry about him getting out into the busy street. They had posted the vet and the hospital numbers and rules about pets in different places. In short, if you are looking for family getaway I’d highly recommend the Birders Paradise!
My family and I enjoyed spending Memorial Day weekend at this lovely cottage. The photos are very accurate, and the home is very well stocked. The owner was extremely responsive and provided great recommendations. Unfortunately the trail to the water hasn’t been cleared in a while so we found it impassable. However, it was a short walk down the road to one of the nearby beaches. Guilford is a lovely town to visit, and we look forward to returning in the future.
We were excited to find time to spend in Connecticut and Amy’s little cottage made our visit both easy, comfortable and convenient. She has a nicely appointed space with all the amenities you could ask for really enjoyed the fireplace for chili nights.
While in town to attend a wedding in Madison, this was the perfect place to stay. A very comfortable, spotless, well-appointed home. Birding, nature walks, and beach nearby. Amy is terrific with communication and suggestions for ways to enjoy the area, quickly responds to all inquiries. We encourage you to give this property serious consideration!
We truly enjoyed our stay in Guilford. The cottage had just the right feel for us in terms of how it was decorated and how the kitchen was stocked. The hosts were responsive and the place was spotless. Lots to see in the area, and an excellent dog park about 15 minutes away for our dog. The small beach down the road is dog friendly year-round. We had a wonderful time at that beach observing a pair of ospreys tending to their nest of little ones! Thank you, Amy and George!
Amy's home and property were just lovely, just as described. The house was immaculate and well accommodated, the kitchen well stocked and plenty of towels and linens. The porch was great for outdoor meals and bird watching, and I took great walks every morning with my dog around the neighborhood near and further on to get glimpses of the sea. Amy was available when I had questions about the area beaches and provided great restaurant recommendations. I fully recommend this home.
We saw so many different birds, including osprey, just sitting on the rear deck. Great location to walk, go to beach and near town also. The house had comfortable beds and air conditioning through most of the house.
My mother stayed in this comfortable, well appointed, and nicely decorated house near the marsh in guilford for 1 month. Amy was extremely responsive and helpful throughout.
