Gray Haven #11-DE: Oceanfront, dog-friendly, private hot tub, pool access

Wonderful place, stunning views.. but I was walked in on by a realtor while trying to read a book in the bathtub, she just walked into the house.. Very uneasy feeling but overall the stay was good.

We had a nice stay in this house. It had an old, musty smell when we first went in. I sprayed the house with Lysol which helped. We didn’t have any hot water the first evening. I called the VRBO number and explained the situation. He was very helpful and within a few minutes someone else called back. The water heater had to be replaced and was done so the next day. We came for a fishing trip so overall it was a nice stay.

This house was spacious and updated. Great for my fam and pup however it is not Oceanfront. There are enormous dunes between the house and the beach and while I completely understand the need for dunes, these were difficult for my parents to hike over, so much so, that my dad didnt even venture to the beach. Just be prepared for a good 10-15 minute walk to the actual beach over large hills. When laying in bed, I could feel the house moving, when others were walking above me. The amenities in the house were absolutely great. It is decorated nicely and the hot tub was great.

Property and house furniture needs to be updated.

Great house on the Outer Banks. We had a nice family trip. Was not very crowded which was both good and bad. I am sure in summer the place is jumping with people. Glad we had a few good restaurants open. I would go back and rent this house again with other family members.

Absolutely abysmal customer service from Vacasa. Winter storm Enzo shut the entire Outer Banks down and we couldn’t access the property. Vacasa’s response was it wasn’t their problem and they would not offer any refunds or future credits. A simple Google search uncovered untold horror stories similar to mine. I will never rent another property if they are the host.

We were just here for a little weekend get-away before Christmas. The house is as advertised. It feels like staying at your friends well-loved beach house. The view is beautiful, you are close to everything and there is plenty of room for kids (and the dog) to relax. While it has almost everything, there wasn’t a microwave, which was a bit of a surprise. The sandspurs are abundant, so shows outdoors are a must. We would definitely stay here again.

Within a minute of being here we realized this home was loved and had been lived in. It immediately felt like home. Furniture comfy, although one bed was a bit soft. Beautiful art and touches. We tried to love it as much as the owners did. Rough walking over dunes for the pups, they picked up some prickly briars so we drove onto beach rest of week. Location was great! Avon is always a good location on Hatteras Island. We hope to stay here next year as well. The management company was fantastic!

Great view from the upper deck. Close walk to the beach. Close to a plethora of amenities nearby. Nice and spacious living area and a hot tub too! Could be cleaned better. Care ful of the sand burs on the dunes and near the house. They will track in on your shoes! Otherwise, a wonderful stay in such a picturesque place!

It's been too long since we've been to the beach for a vacation, and this home really made our trip special. Plenty of room for all of us, and our pup loved it too.

Only non-positive comment is that it needs new pillowa, or bring your own. Great house and location! 9.5 out of 10
