Loved the location. It is Beautiful. The house had lots of room. Very homey, we would stay there again.
Wonderful week even though lake level was so low and no campfire on the beach. Nice to spend time with family on the lake.
We had a great time staying here. The cabin was very roomy and it had everything we needed. The kids loved playing at the lake although it was a little cold. There is an alpine coaster down the road that was alot of fun. Check in was easy. Would stay again.
We stayed there with our family and another family which worked out wonderfully. It’s a rustic lake house with a a wonderful beach and dock. Our families had a blast even though the wildfire smoke was a little heavy. Would definitely stay there again!
Loved this cabin!!! We had 6 adults and 4 children (ages 7-12) and we had a wonderful time. The owners met us on arrival, and shared the history of the home. That made a huge impact on us. We all loved knowing that “grandpa built the original building in the 1960’s.” That made us so appreciative of the love of family and history present throughout the house. If you are looking for a place that is sparse and shiny like a hotel or a Pottery Barn photo, this won’t be the right fit. This is a cozy home — picture kids cuddling with fuzzy blankets on the couch after a long day of swimming and fishing. The house is well stocked and access to the water is incredible! There is shallow water for young kids to enter, and of course the docks for jumping off and diving. Our kids caught some nice sized fish and the water toys were a hit. The only caution I would share is access to the loft is by ladder. The video on the website clearly shows this. Thanks to Mary and family. We had a wonderful time!!
Title listing accurately describes the property because it definitely is grandma's cabin in the woods. A previous reviewer mentioned maybe paring down kitchen items so that occupants can find things more easily & I would agree with that. But other than that & (according to my son) maybe replacing the mattress on the bed in the basement, we really have not complaints. It is a true cabin on a beautiful lake setting in the woods where we would have been content to spend all of our time except that Glacier National Park was our reason for being in the area. Would have loved to swim in the beautiful clean water, but it was still too cold for us. We did make use of the fishing gear that was graciously provided by the owner & we loved using the fire pit by the water every evening when we returned from exploring the area. We also made good use of the washer & dryer & my son has vowed to get a new washer like the one at the cabin. Finally, the owner was very accommodating when we showed up with a large RV that needed to be parked at the property & when two of us decided to show up a day early. Overall, we really enjoyed the property.
This was a great family vacation spot. The view is beautiful, as is the lakeshore and the dock is handy. The fire pit is especially unique and received a lot of use while we were there, as did the kayak and fishing gear. The house suited us well and was clean and well stocked with necessities. Mary was great and easy to communicate with. We recommend it to families with 8 or so people.
Very nice location but a bit tricky if you have a boat as turnaround space is just past the property. Master bed was fine but the downstairs bed needs replacement. Need some extra blankets for cool nights. Cupboards and closets need to be decluttered as many items are not usable or so old even the family members would not find useful. Dock & location are great.
Easy to get to, loved the dock and deck!
It is obvious from entering the cabin that this property is a well used (and loved) family vacation home. It seemed from the guest book entry that the family has somewhat recently began renting out the property. Pros: Great spot on the lake, beautiful scenery, lovely dock, ease of parking; felt very private despite neighbors. Lots of board games/cards, etc. and was reasonably priced. [We did not use the paddleboat or small kayak that was available. There is a very large nice firering/pit though we did not use.] There is one wall A/C unit in the dining room and a portable window vented A/C unit in the master bedroom. Cons: The cabin is literally packed with stuff. While the owners did clear some space for renters, most of the cabinets/drawers/closets were full. The kitchen had no empty space except for one counter, and the drawers were so disorganized it took forever to find anything (never did find a whisk). No vent fan for the stove/oven and the oven has not been cleaned so house was smoky when in use. The 2nd non-master bath is located at the back of the house so you have to walk through the entire house (and under the loft utility ladder if using) to access that bathroom (I would suggest adding some nightlights in the living room/dining room to help illuminate.) My older teens enjoyed the loft area but I agree with other reviewers that the trapdoor/ladder access is not set up for small children. The queen bedroom downstairs is a good size with outdoor access and the yellow room would be good for kids as it is next to the master bedroom but it is very small. Overall, the cabin is in a beautiful location and is great for those who don't mind sharing another families personal space and being surrounded by their momentos, etc.
Enjoyed the property
Wonderful cabin close to home with so many touches that made us feel like We were back at our own grandparents cabin on Flathead Lake. Unfortunately their special place is no longer around. Had beautiful weather and a great time with family and friends.
We had an amazing week here. I don’t think you can find better beach access. The cabin was cozy and the kitchen had everything we needed and some. The deck has the most phenomenal view. We will definitely be back.
Our family had a wonderful time staying at Grandma's cabin. The kids took full advantage of the dock and the water toys. The property owners were very accommodating. This is a good lakehouse and a great location to experience Flathead lake.
The lake is absolutely amazing and we were sad to leave. Thank you for everything.
Communication with host was excellent. Checkin was excellent. The one concern we had that was not accurate was the loft access. We assumed there would be a stairs and there was only a utility ladder and a trap door to get there. We felt it was unsafe and dangerous. Cooking utensils were dirty and had to be washed to use and while the two refrigerators were a blessing, there was little space to put our groceries so we kept in boxes in the back porch. Had some difficulty in finding extra pillows and blankets. Weather was no cooperative but that wasn't the fault of the owners and we had good family time.
Great location, plenty of room for 11 people! Enjoyed our time there!
Older resistance on the lake, good internet and tv. Fire pit, boat dock, tight parking for more than two cars. Loved the location.
