Wow!! Such a beautiful home. The thought, details, history and beauty of this property are unmatched. We loved all the paintings, history, pictures and decor! This home had everything we needed for our stay and everyone couldn’t get over how comfy the beds were and how soft the sheets were. Don’t miss out on the upstairs balcony and swing! Perfect for relaxing with a book or having morning coffee! This stay was just perfection!

Went to visit my daughter for the weekend and this house was perfect! The hosts were easy to contact and very responsive. The house itself was beautiful and the washer and dryer came in handy. Great location that was walking distance to restaurants and shops. Will definitely consider this house again when visiting in the future.

We needed to take a very quick and last minute trip to Lynchburg, and this house was everything we needed and more! The space is magnificent - very clean and beautiful! Communication was above and beyond - messages were responded to very quickly and kindly. The beds were very comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer! A Mexican restaurant and donut shop are right across the street. We’ll be back to visit this beautiful house!

We absolutely loved our stay at the MLK House! It felt like living inside a historic home and art museum, with every room filled with character and thoughtful details. The beds were so comfortable, the porch swing was perfect for relaxing, and the location made it easy to explore downtown and visit Liberty University. Knowing our stay also supported the local community made it even more meaningful. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful property. Close to the downtown river front venues and activities. The location seemed to be close to the main thoroughfares around Lynchburg. I do t think we were more than 15 min drive from anywhere. We had a fabulous stay.

The house was absolutely beautiful and decorations were spot on. The only thing I had an issue with was out of the control of the owner, it was the noise of the traffic from the bedrooms. This house is directly on the corner of a busy roadway with brick/cobblestone section that was very loud when cars drove over it. They did provide a sound machine to help drown out the traffic noise. The house was ideal for our stay and withing walking distance to several places. Thank you for having us!

The house is wonderfully renovated and decorated. The beds were so comfortable and the house cozy. Plenty of space for multiple guests. I think we said I love this house a million times. Will definitely stay during Lacrosse season. One of the best properties in Lynchburg.

We hired this house for a weekend visit to Liberty U. We have been to Lynchburg a few times and wanted to have a roomy place in the historic districts. This elegant vintage house has been meticulously renovated and is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is fully appointed and all the amenities you could want are there. If there is a limitation it is that there are two bathrooms, so you have to be comfortable sharing. We were and the bathrooms are excellent. The location is very good on 5th Street. It is at the edge of a less well preserved and maintained neighborhood but we were comfortable and secure at all times. Ten minutes to the LU campus.

We were in town to attend a wedding in which our son was serving as best man. We've never been to Lynchburg and we now hope to return. We can say absolutely nothing negative about this experience; the home, the location, or our hostesses! The property was clean, spacious, well organized and well decorated, beautiful, in a fantastic area, and the beds were very comfortable! There was only one thing that I needed to communicate on briefly, and I received a response within minutes. We had plenty of downtime and the area was not only beautiful, but the nearby shops and eateries were fantastic. We would definitely rent this property again!

We loved this house! The bedrooms were incredible and the house was cozy. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is none of the doors inside have locks and one of the bedroom doors didn’t latch at all. Outside of that it was an incredible house.

I must have repeated the phrase I love this house! 100 times. The historic home is absolutely impeccable. The attention to detail, right down the the MLK quotes on the coffee mugs was impressive. The kitchen was fully stocked with dinnerware, plates, bowls and utensils a plenty. There was even pyrex dishes for baking and tupperware for storage. The living room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The dining room had an extra large table that would easily seat a large extended family. Upstairs the bedrooms were lovely! Bonus- each had its own ceiling fan and AC control! The beds were very comfortable and were made with crisp sheets and plenty of pillows and blankets. In addition to the large comfy king beds, there were stylish day beds as well that blended with the decor seamlessly. The attention to detail carried through to both bathrooms which contained lovely touches of history including penny tile, wide planked flooring and a claw foot tub for soaking. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion were also provided as well as make-up remover wipes and wash clothes. Plenty of towels were provided as well. The restoration and preservation of the historical elements of the home combined with modern comforts made this one of my most favorite places to stay! I would highly recommend!

The location is excellent and very walkable. The house was very well appointed and equipped. Only real complaint was the street noise and maybe because we are used to the constant road and traffic noise all night. If you are a sound sleeper, no problem.

Absolutely great property that I would highly recommend. The house has a ton of charm, style and decor that makes you feel like a home away from home. The house has plenty of space to spread out, enjoy relaxing, dining, and hanging together. The house is the most stocked house I've ever stayed in for a kitchen and appliances, with a great selection and supply of linens, towels, and bathroom supplies. Highly recommend the place, they've done an excellent job with the house.

My husband, daughter and I had a lovely weeklong stay as we explored west central Virginia. The house had everything we needed (plus a wonderful donut shop across the street). We walked to downtown Lynchburg several times, and enjoyed daytrips to Roanoke, Smith Mountain Lake, Lexington and Staunton.

We stayed at “The Dream” for four nights and it was stunning. Beautifully appointed, clean, decorated and inspiring. The focus around Dr. King and his beautiful words of hope and love that surrounded our stay were remarkable. The historic home was gorgeous and fascinating to see! I would highly recommend this property to those looking for inspiration and beauty. The only recommendation I would have is to bring ear plugs as it is located on a busy intersection and it was difficult to sleep. The location is good it was just a little loud for those of us used to a more rural/suburban setting. Thank you to the hosts and company! Gorgeous home!
