The Neighborhood:

We just love this historic and scenic spot with the Seawall just 2 blocks from this charming home. Guests can enjoy the many restaurants from seafood to pizza or head to the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier. Still not enough, check out Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, or the fabulous and historic Strand. There's plenty of activities to do, and of course, there is nothing better than a day at the beach!



Getting Around:

Most activities are within walking distance from this central spot. However, Uber and Lyft are widely available and convenient for evenings out. Seasonal trolley service runs along parts of the Seawall and into downtown, which is a charming, car-free way to sightseeing.

When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!



PUP-FRIENDLY:

Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.



WIFI/TV SERVICE:

Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!



979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:

All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!



CANCELLATION POLICY:

When booking direct with 979, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations. After 24 hours, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.



Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. When booking through a 3rd party channel, the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking is the cancellation policy on your reservation.

    Great location with quick access to beach, pier, historic downtown Galveston, anything - all just minutes away. Our second stay here and definitely we'll be back again.

    We came for the Izquierda festival with all of our family. We were able to walk to the beach and the festival in 5 minutes. Close to great food, pleasure pier, golf cart rentals etc. The house is beautifully remodeled leaving all of the historic charm. Perfectly equipped for a short stay but close to convenient store for longer needs. We would definitely book again.

    Everything was nice, stylish and well-equipped. My 2 kids enjoyed having their own bedrooms, and it was nice that the master was remote. Very easy walk to the beach, Miller's Grill and Murdoch's. The older Keurig was a little tricky to get more than a few tablespoons of coffee from, but they had a regular coffee pot too. I couldn't get the back gate to open from the outside keypad so we just parked in the front and never had any issues. Those are tiny things that didn't bother us much at all, and everything else really was perfect. Our bed was really comfortable. Overall, a very nice place. 5 stars.

    Property was very clean and well kept. Gate code did not work but remote did. Wish there was more than 1 towel per person. Overall would book again and recommend.

    The house was well designed. The primary suite was on one side of the house, which provided separation, if needed. The other two bedrooms were spacious and had good closet space. Both bathrooms were well designed. The front yard and back yard were connected and fenced in, so Roxy the Dog was able to enjoy the yard. Parking is available in the back yard via the alley. The beach, seawall, Murdoch’s was just a short walk away. We hope to be back next year.

    This is the nicest rental we’ve visited in town - normally we have to go out to Pirates Beach or Pointe West for something this nice. All updated, roomy kitchen and bedrooms and all the necessary cookware is there. Fantastic location as well. We’ll look for this one again.

    house layout great as well as closeness to beach. Some noise pollution from dogs in nearby rentals, We stayed at this site previously and knew it would fit our needs - one large bedroom that could fit parents with small 2 yr old twins and 2other bedrooms on other side of house for others. House has nice linens, towels, and kitchen ware.
