A rare find, Lost Tides is a fabulous, five bedroom oceanfront Victorian home nestled on 2 private acres with 470 ft. of shorefront.

Take in the stunning views of the Penobscot Bay from nearly every room while experiencing all the charm of a bygone era. Relax on the screened in porch with a glass of lemonade or a cocktail--free of bugs but full of fresh ocean air!--or take a stroll around the grounds and see the original carriage house. Luxuriate in our seaside spa--no better place onthe planet (but keep in mind that it is not available in winter months). Play horseshoes or cornhole as the tide comes in just a couple dozen feet away. If you're a runner, cruise down Shore Road under a leafy cathedral all the way to Route 1. Swim right off your own beach, search for sea glass, or just sit and enjoy the magnificent sunrises and sunsets for which Maine is famous.

Tastefully updated, this home has the charm of a Grand Dame, but with all the modern amenities, including a new kitchen and 4.5 updated bathrooms. There is a dining room table for 12 in the formal dining room as well as a gorgeous farm table that seats 12 in the summer dining room overlooking the sea. Be advised that since the house was built in 1876, we try not to overcrowd her and usually only host 12 people if there are children in the group.

The house offers a foosball table, a ping pong table, and a guest suite that is private and separate from the other four bedrooms. Perfect for family reunions, events, or those who need healthy space. There is also a large entertainment room with a big screen TV, modern and comfortable queen sized Murphy bed, with it's own bathroom and kitchenette! There are 3 original fireplaces and a quaint wooden staircase down to the beach. This gracious and magical waterside home is just a short walk to historic Bayside Village, a hidden spot that has no commercial development--not a stop light, stop sign, billboard, or store to be found! It is truly unique and feels like a trip back in time. There is a lovely old pier, where kids (and some brave adults) jump into the sparkling Penobscot Bay, plus a beautiful green park complete with an old-school playground. The charming and wonderful Northport Golf Club is a ten-minute WALK from the house or a two minute drive. Just grab your clubs and go!

Lost Tides is also a perfect place for weddings, with a large, flat lawn that can accommodate a tent. Get married under the tall oak and pine trees, looking out over the still water--an experience that will set the tone for your special day. Event fee required and can be discussed.

We've been coming to Bayside for three decades and will give you our best recommendations for restaurants, bars, hikes, shopping, and things to experience that are off the beaten tourist track. Belfast, a unique and authentic fishing town, is three miles away, with everything you could ever need--and some things you never even knew you wanted! The splendor of Acadia National Park is a 75 minute drive away, and Camden, a historic and charming tourist town, is 20 minutes to the south.

Showers could use some attention/ no locking door to downstairs bedroom or bathroom- would have appreciated unused soap and shampoo - nice outdoor space to enjoy the water- enjoyed the multiple spaces inside for everyone’s comfort - appreciated the owners prompt call when we had a need to understand the heating system and request to check in early

We loved this home for a group of ten adults! There are multiple large spaces inside and outside for group to gather and enjoy their time together. Beautiful views of Penobscot Bay! We aoso enjoyed visits to Belfast, Camden and Acadia National Park together. Excellent location! Great cooking and dining areas to enjoy home cooked meals together, too.

We had a fantastic stay at Lost Tides. There was plenty of room for all and plenty to do. We rented Kayaks for our stay and enjoyed kayaking on the bay. The hot tub was a bonus after a long trek! The house is centrally located so day trips to Acadia/Bar Harbor are very do-able. Young’s Lobster Pound became a group favorite! All in all a very enjoyable place to stay. Thank you!

We all loved our time at the Estate. We had more than enough room for all the adults and the two master suites with attached private bathrooms was wonderful. The house has well equipped kitchens. The bedrooms had ample space and were very comfortable. The view from the house is amazing. We had great weather and were able to sit outside for breakfast coffees. Lovely! Host is very open and available. Would highly recommend this lovely home.

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful home in Bayside. There were plenty of rooms for our large family with extremely comfortable beds! We loved the view of the water from every window, appreciated the TV room being slightly separate from the rest of the main house, and having two dining options depending on what felt right for each meal. We loved explored the shoreline at low tide and rented kayaks for the week to go out and enjoy the water. We built a fire to make s'mores in the evening and loved relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. The house was close to lots of great places to eat, hike, explore, etc. We hope to come back next summer!

We enjoyed a week at this beautiful home. The setting is gorgeous and it's very quiet and peaceful for a relaxing time in Maine. The house is very clean and big enough for everyone to space to enjoy themselves. The access to the bay is amazing and the nearby town of Bayside is just picture perfect to stroll through. The owners are very accessible and provide all information needed for check-in, local stores and food, along with where to rent kayaks or bikes, which we greatly appreciated. My only critique would be the screened porch furniture is very old and not comfortable at all. I'd recommend upgrading that to improve the overall guest experience, along with updating the foosball table, which is so old and really doesn't work. We spent the majority of our time outside or on the screened porch, so it would be nice to update those items. Overall, highly recommend for a large group!

Lost Tides was a wonderful home away from home for a magical week in July with family and our dog. The location on the bay was perfection, and the house was welcoming, comfortable, and bigger than the listing photos represented. There was enough room for everyone to gather, and also spread out. We rented kayaks from Duck Trap, which we would also highly recommend. The beds were very comfy and overall we would turn around and go right back if we could!

Our extended family, including three generations, gathered at Lost Tides for a week to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday! There were eleven of us staying there and it was spacious enough that we never felt crowded. The kitchen was large enough for several of us to prepare a meal at the same time. The house is on secluded property overlooking the bay.The ocean views are gorgeous and the sunrises can be amazing and magical! Our kids and grandkids had fun paddle boarding along the shore. Others enjoyed walking the beach and finding lots of sea glass! We were all very comfortable at Lost Tides, the bed in the master suite made us feel like we were sleeping on a cloud! Everyone loved the house and would love to come back again! Thanks Suzanne and Ethan for being such good hosts!

Our stay was perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing. Plenty of space as far as bedrooms and bathrooms go. So much common space to enjoy a fire, meals, and outdoor space. The beach is very wide during low tide and an added perk. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. We can’t wait to plan a return trip.

My wife and I, our three adult children and their spouses, and our grandchildren had a great time at the Lost Tides house relaxing, sightseeing, and eating at the restaurants around the area. The spacious house easily accommodated us and all our activities, and the view of Penobscot Bay outside the expanse of windows was gorgeous. Suzanne, the owner, was a gracious host. We hope to stay again.

There were nine of us, plenty of room to spread out. All the adult couples had king size beds and there were plenty of bathrooms. The house was well stocked allowing us to have a great breakfast before heading out for the day. We had some phenomenal evening meals, relaxed, played games and enjoyed each others company. Great place to stay … the views and sea glass excursions could not be beat. Our grandson even tried his hand at fishing, but no luck. We enjoyed Acadia, Boothbay, Camden, Belfast and Bar Harbor. Would love to come back … and maybe someday we will.

This is one of the most beautiful properties I have ever had the privilege of staying at. The home has everything you could want for an enjoyable family stay. A great kitchen. Comfortable bedrooms. A wonderful playroom with TV and game table. Ping-pong and foosball. A fire pit. And a short walk to some steps down to the beach. Just 15 minutes to Belfast, which is a wonderful seaside community with great restaurants and shops. There’s a nine hole golf course literally right around the corner from the property.

We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend while in the area for my daughter’s college graduation. The house and property was exactly as represented in the online description. It’s a really peaceful place with great energy. The host was great. Communication was good and she responded quickly when we had a question. The property would be a great place for a large family get together. Tons of space! We would definitely rent here again.
