Wonderful property with everything you need to relax and enjoy the lakeside property. Also, great location to travel around the area. Comfortable,clean and many extras. Very family friendly for multigeneration vacations.

Great place to spend vacation

We stay at a lot of different VRBO rentals. By far, this one has been one of our favorites. Beautiful home, amazing view with a sunset in the evenings. Has all the necessities needed and more. We truly enjoyed our time here and can’t wait to go back. John and Kathy

This was our 5th year, we really like the location as it is right next to the state park and the beach is very quiet. The lake is shallow for quite a distance and the bottom is sandy as well as the beach. It’s kind of the best of the both worlds, remote but not far from downtown Mackinaw city. The house is perfect for our family, there are usually only five of us that but we have housed eight a couple of the years for a few days. The living area and kitchen/dining room are very spacious. Kristen has all the supplies there that you would need for preparing meals. There is room in any of the bedrooms to put a pack and play.

Little bit of heaven. So peaceful and yet close to town

We had a wonderful stay. The property is the perfect location to go to Mackinaw Island, Charlevoix, Petosky, and the Upper Peninsula. It had everything we needed. It was one of the best vacations our family has had. The private beach area is perfect for kids. The porches were fabulous for morning coffee and evening sunsets. I attempted to communicate these concerns with the owner before writing my review- but it has been almost a week with no response. This is the email of concerns we had. Regarding our stay at your vacation rental this past week. (Sat 6/7-Wed 6/11) We do have concerns to share with you. Upon entering your home, my two children began to run around the house and they were playing as we unpacked and settled in. After about 1 hour, we noticed both of the bottom of their feet were blackish-brown. I then found the mop and decided to reclean the floor myself. The mop water was completely brown/black so I’m glad I did give the floor a good cleaning. This may be caused from the beach/sand/dirt that is drug in.Next topic- Your house is listed to be able to comfortably sleep 8 guests. There are only 4 dining room chairs for guests. We saw you have 4 bar stools, but when having family dinners, it would be nice to be able to all sit around a table to have a meal. We also attempted to grill outside one evening- it was difficult with no patio furniture to sit down to eat outside, just a side thought for the future. Next suggestion- we had 6 guest stay, my in-laws, my husband and I and our two kiddos. After trying to enjoy the beach and doing long days of touring and shopping it is nice to unwind- I would recommend adding at least 1 more television in the master bedroom so there can be multiple watching options for guests. Our family has always enjoyed the stress free relaxation that comes with the location and child friendly beach.

The house was set up nicely with the bedrooms close together which helped with the children sleeping in a different place. The house was very clean and neat. The convience of being able to walk down to the water from the house was very nice. There were plenty of hiking trails around that we visited every day on our trip and found lots of sea shells along the lake shore. The only bad part was all the mosquitoes- bug spray is a must! But was a great trip and we would definitely stay there again!
