As you enter, you'll be greeted by soaring ceilings, wood floors, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and lake. The Master bedroom boasts unique barn doors opening onto the beautiful living area below, a luxurious king bed, and a cozy electric fireplace sitting area. The Master loft also has a round pedestal table and chairs and a dream ensuite with a soaker tub and spacious waterfall shower.
The Canter room has a tranquil ambiance with a white horse mural and its own private full en-suite. The Canter room features deluxe bedding on a comfortable queen bed and two closets.
Relax in the living room, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and leather sectional couch, or prepare a meal in the enormous kitchen with its gas stove and 10' fir slab bar with stools. When it's time to dine, gather around the stunning live edge hand-hewn fir dinner table.
You will love the private mountain/lake view balcony with the Spaberry jacuzzi for two. Our home also features a washer/dryer and keyless code lock for your convenience.
While the railroad tracks run right in front of the suite, with trains passing by a couple of times a day, most guests find this interesting and no problem at all. The trains run fairly slow and don't usually honk on this end of town. The tracks run all along the lake, past many of the best areas close to the water and near downtown.
You are most welcome to come experience the beauty, comfort, and convenience of our beautiful Grand Loft.

Great place! Well stocked. Great location just steps from downtown.
great place
It was a beautiful relaxing weekend getaway w three generations of women. I loved the extras with nice shampoos and conditioners and stocked kitchen w oil and spices. The tub is amazing! Chara was a wonderful host. Trains were a non issue.
We stayed here for our honeymoon and were not disappointed, we loved everything. We were pleasantly surprised at all of the small details, they made the place even more special (fresh bread, robes, kitchen stocked with spices). It was a perfect getaway with all of the conveniences of home. The suite is gorgeous and so well decorated. The host always replied promptly and was very helpful. The train didn't bother us as much as we were expecting, it was quiet during the night (as long as you keep the windows closed) and didn't interrupt your sleep. We did not notice it that much. We enjoyed kayaking in Nelson and Marzano was a fantastic restaurant. A beautiful trip indeed!
This loft suite is so beautifully done, fully equipped and looks like it was dropped here straight from NYC! The unit has thoughtful touches throughout, high quality finishes and is within walking distance from all of Nelson’s great restaurants and shops. Don’t worry about the train, after 1 day you won’t even notice. The hot tub on the deck is the cherry on top. Thank you Chara!
The hostess communicates very well. She was responsive to questions we had during the stay. The kitchen is very well equipped with seasonings, oil and a surprise loaf of bread for us to enjoy. Highly recommend staying here. Close walk to town and easy access to go to Whitewater. Loved our time in Nelson
The property is very well equipped and very comfortable. It’s located very close to the downtown restaurants and shops. At first it appears to be very close to the railway tracks but this isn’t an issue and the view from the property is of the surrounding mountains and river valley.
This place is absolutely gorgeous and its a 2 block walk to Baker street with all the shops and restaurants. We stayed here for 7 days over the holidays and loved the space, it was perfect for 4 people, the kitchen was great for cooking, BBQ, hot tub, Nespresso, very open with a gorgeous view of the mountains, i really cant say enough good things about the space. Chara was a great host, her communication was top notch.
This property is five star in every way. Great location, fabulous and beautiful space and well stocked. Highly recommend!
This is a beautiful property conveniently located to downtown Nelson. The views from the great room are spectacular.
It was beautiful and spacious, yet still cozy. Location was excellent, being so close to Baker Street - even with the train nearby. This created some excitement, lol.
We were very pleased with our choice of property in Nelson, and would highly recommend it to others. The location was fantastic, just a block or two from the heart of downtown - it was a quick, safe walk downtown to all the wonderful shops and restaurants, also a big grocery store an easy walk away. The place was exactly as the photos showed and plenty large for 4 adults, as was our case. Most notably, the kitchen was a dream to work in, every convenience or tool you needed was on hand, with lovely dishes and serving vessels. Chara checked on us via messaging to ensure we had everything we needed and I got the impression she would have hustled right over if we asked for something that wasn't there. Beds and furniture were very comfortable and there wasn't a complaint from anyone in our group. And just to address the proximity of the train tracks...unless you happened to be awake and in the living room by the large windows or were out on the balcony when it passed, you wouldn't even know. None of us did. And I have to say it was a pleasant novelty to be standing with glass of wine in hand as the train slowly passed beneath us shortly after we arrived, the train conductor giving us a friendly wave. Loved it!
We had a wonderful time in Nelson, BC staying at the Lamplighter. Chara has thought of everything to make the guest experience great. Beautiful bed linens and towels, bath salts and comfy robes, herbs, oils and spices, Nespresso machine, candles, hot tub and much more! The location was perfect and the view from the incredible full windows spectacular. My family wished we could have stayed longer.
Check in was smooth. Chara checked in with us during the trip to see if we needed anything. Will look to this property first the next we’re in Nelson.
Chara was very responsive to all of our questions. The loft was extremely clean. I was impressed! We appreciated the loving attention to details, the eclectic, tasteful decor, and overall atmosphere of the loft. My husband enjoyed the small 2 person hot tub. The furniture and the beds were comfortable. The main bed had a memory foam topper and wonderfully soft linens and good pillows. A large main bathroom and 1.5 bathrooms downstairs. I might have liked stronger lights in the main bathroom for make up application, but that is a personal preference. The train came by a 2-3 times during our three night stay. The first time it was very early in the morning, a bit of noise and rattle and then it was over. No whistle blowing. The next time it came during the afternoon. No problem with that either. We did not perceive any negative noise from the industrial area around the loft. We could hear the neighbors some but not much. The location of the loft is great. Just a couple of blocks to Baker Street lined with shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend this place for 2-4 people and would stay there again. Thank you Chara for being such a gracious and responsive host! We had a great time!
This loft was the perfect mix of a relaxing and inviting home base for a weekend spent in the beautiful Kootenays. Would definitely come back!
