Stayed Nov 23, 2016Everything was just right! My family enjoyed our Thanksgiving Holiday stay at the The Garden St. House. The kitchen was even plenty big enough for us to prepare our Thanksgiving feast, and it was equipped with almost everything we needed. My grandaughters made friends with the children nextdoor. It was great place for a family gathering. The owner was very helpful and responded promptly to every question I had. The place was very cozy, comfortable and clean. Just as described on the website.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This Garden Street house is aptly located in what feels like a lush quiet retreat with the added benefit of being just minutes from downtown Austin! Vibrant decor and comfy atmosphere lend grounded calm to the lofty ceilings and spaciousness of this house. I highly recommend this garden gem on the Eastside!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A family group of 7 stayed here for two nights for an event in east Austin. The owner, Paprika Leaverton, responded promptly each time to my needs/questions in making the reservation. The house was clean and has a kitchen that is well-stocked with dishes and utensils for cooking. Everything was in working order and there are lots of table surfaces available for keeping our belongings organized. There was plenty of seating and the beds were comfortable. It is an older home that retains its vintage charm. One of the best parts of the stay was the neighborhood. I have lived in Austin in the past and was surprised about how vibrant east Austin has become. There are tons of cute coffee shops and eateries in waking distance from the house. It is an active, lively community with people of all ages and cultures living there. Lots of homes were in the process of being renovated. People were everywhere, out walking their dogs or getting around on bikes. It was fun to sit on the front porch and watch. Despite all the activity, and proximity of the houses, it was surprisingly VERY quiet at night. Not a single dog bark or car was heard! The trash pick up was a tad noisy one morning, but that happens in any neighborhood.Someone lives upstairs, but you wouldn't know it. My one suggestion is that the middle bedroom could use a mirror above the desk for getting dressed when others are occupying one of the two nice bathrooms. I would love to stay here again.

Stayed Sep 8, 2016My family went to Austin this past weekend for a wedding. We chose to stay at the Garden St. House because it offered the most affordable price for the amount of sleeping and seating space my family needed. The house has a unique feel to it, which resonates with the Keep Austin Weird slogan. My family appreciated the unique setting, especially since it accommodated all of us within our budget. There was enough sleeping for 8, and we could also all sit in the living room together to talk and play games. We could also all fit comfortably around the kitchen area to enjoy our daily brunch together. The location was very convenient. This house was a great fit for my family's 4-day getaway.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Enjoyed our stay in Austin and at the Garden St. House. Our kids loved the wagon full of toys and the little rocking chair. We had a big family meal in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed the playscape just down the street. The house is roomy and enjoyed the old style and the colorful vaulted walls. Quite creative and unique. Lindsay was wonderful too and we were able to have her company deliver us groceries before we even arrived. That was so nice. Thanks all!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family stayed at the Garden St. House in June and it was great! Quiet neighborhood, Big backyard with a BBQ grill, vaulted ceilings and large bedrooms, comfy beds. Parks and the pool was close and we even found the river just 2 blocks away. Was nice but unusual to have wood floors everywhere even in the kitchen. Its an older house with alot of charm. We'll be back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A group of us were travelling to Austin for a music festival (imagine that :) It was initially a bit confusing because the VRBO listing was transitioning from a property manager to Paprika herself. We did get that sorted out eventually and arrived to find a great updated house. The house was very comfortably furnished and very well located. And ...... as it turned out Paprika was a fan of the festival as well so we got to meet her too! She was a delight and a wonderful hostess. We would absolutely stay here again.
