Enjoy a charming, beautifully-furnished mountain-view bungalow with a private tranquil garden. Dine under olive or fig trees (two outdoor dining areas); relax on the sunny back patio or in the shade of the camphor tree. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Wake to mountain views. Enjoy friendly neighbors and shy deer. Walk to great restaurants and shops in "downtown" Sierra Madre. Hop on the nearby 210 for Old Town Pasadena, Huntington Library, CalTech, JPL, and more; take the Gold Line to LA.
You'll have a queen bed, an armoire and closet for plenty of storage. The retro bathroom offers a shower over tub, obviously a toilet, sink with lots of counter space, and a medicine cabinet for all your necessities.
The kitchen has loads of counter space, plenty of pots, pans, and cooking implements, dishes and glassware that will make meal prep easy. A microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, stove, and of course a sink are all there, too. You're welcome to use herbs and spices that are on hand.
The living room is furnished with comfortable Arts & Crafts furniture and accessories, wifi and TV with Roku, and a well-stocked bookcase. It's totally private, yet has an expansive view of the San Gabriel Mountains. Sitting at the dining table is almost like being outside. It's a lovely place to eat or to work, if you can tear yourself from the view of the mountains, watching hikers on Mt Wilson Trail, following soaring eagles or a raucous flock of green parrots.
This is a little piece of paradise in a wonderful community!
We enjoyed the small town outdoorsy lifestyle of Sierra Madre but had all the modern conveniences close by as well.
We really enjoyed everything about our stay here. The cottage and gardens are lovely as is the town of Sierra Madre. We loved walking around the neighborhood and hiking the nearby mountain trails. And Tanya has supplied her cottage with everything one might need while staying there. Thank you Tanya for sharing such a wonderful place!
We stayed at Tanya’s place for three months. The setting could not have been better. The house is extremely clean and the furnishings are over the top. Tanya was very responsive to our every need. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat!
For 12 weeks this was my lovely little home in a lovely little town. Tanya was very easy to talk to and always got right back to me. It is full of charm and great books to read!
The house is surrounded by beautiful landscaping with gorgeous mountain views from the dining room window, as well as from the bedroom. Tanya was always quick to respond to any questions we had. The neighborhood is very quiet. We had a wonderful stay.
Sierra Madre is a little gem tucked away in the foothills just east of Pasadena. One of the few places in Southern California where time has stood still. It’s a very quaint and safe little town where you can walk around and enjoy a cup of coffee from Bean Town and a made to order crepe at Monsieur (our favorite). Tanya’s cottage is tucked away in a little canyon where you can enjoy the serenity of the San Gabriel mountains. We found it to be the perfect place to unwind after a long day!! The home is perfectly laid out and very comfortable!! My wife and I enjoyed our stay and plan on returning the next time I have to work in LA!! Thank You Tanya for your hospitality and sharing your home with us.
Such a unique property. Wonderful home and great host.
The cottage was well maintained and amply furnished. It met all my expectations and needs. The owner was prompt and conscientious in responding to all my questions. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
What a wonderful location! This very cute bungalow is extremely comfortable in a lovely green enclave. One large bedroom, one nice sitting room, a galley kitchen. Huge picture windows offer a panorama of the San Gabriel Mountains. The decor is carefully curated Arts & Crafts style. The landlord is wonderful and generous and accommodating. You'll feel right at home. The tiny neighborhood is off the main road, so there's not a lot of traffic. But it's a short walk down to cute little old Sierra Madre, where you can find some nice restaurants, an ice cream parlor, a cute little community theater, and lovely parks. I would absolutely stay here again!
