We have named Our Home Los Guajes (pronounced Huajes) at Whittier Ranch. Guajes refers to an inedible gourd, used to make household objects about 13,000 BC including the Mexican Jicara, a cup for drinking, used by Native Americans who are indigenous to the Coachella Valley. You will see several Guajes hanging in the back yard behind the Pool.
Our Home is a highly upgraded, 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms with a Large Great Room and Den. The Kitchen is large with 4 barstools adjacent to the spacious Breakfast Nook table with sitting for 6. Sleeps 8 comfortably with room for 10. Rates are based on up to 8 persons occupancy. Additional cost of $50 per night, per person for up to 2 additional guests.
As you enter the home there is a den off to your left and to your right is bedroom 4 with a Queen Bed and TV. Adjacent to Bedroom 4 is Bathroom 3 that includes a large walk-in Custom Shower. From here you turn and enter the Great Room with a large 75 inch TV and Fireplace with two couches and a view of the pool area. The Great Room with Kitchen, Breakfast nook and Den are very open for entertaining and dining.
Moving down the main hallway, to your left is the access to the 3-car garage. Across the hallway is Bedroom 3 with 2-Queen Beds and a TV. Across from Bedroom 3 is Bathroom 2 which has 2 Sinks and a Gorgeous Custom Shower. Down the hall is the large Laundry room with Large Washer and Dryer plus a sink. Next to the Laundry room is Bedroom 2 with a Queen Bed and TV.
Bedroom 1 is the Master and is at the end of the hallway and features a King Bed, TV and access to the Backyard and Pool. The Master Bath has a dressing area for putting on makeup, 2 sinks, tub and shower. The Walk-in-Master Closet with Built-ins is the size of a small room.
Ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
From the Kitchen or Master Bedroom you can access the backyard with a large covered patio featuring a TV, ceiling fan and Patio seating. The Pool and Spa area was Custom Built. The Outdoor Kitchen with sink is great place to hang while barbecuing your favorite meal. After dinner sit around the Fire Pit or a Soak in the Spa while enjoying your favorite beverage. Several Guajes adorn the landscaping behind the Pool. From the backyard you have a partial view of the San Jacinto Mountains to the West and the Little San Bernardino’s to the East.
For your safety, there are Cameras in front of the house covering the driveway and street, side yard facing the street, and inside the garage.
The Kitchen has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal or simply scramble eggs. The water in the home is treated with an amazing Purified Water System; from showers to drinking Brewed Mister Coffee, taste will amaze you.
Los Guajes at Whittier Ranch is situated on the former Whittier Ranch which was a Citrus Ranch. 100’s of acres of Citrus Trees when it was a working farm. The Whittier Family, who founded Whittier, California owned Whittier Ranch. The former Ranch house is located on the corner of Jackson and Avenue 48. General George C. Patton stayed in the Ranch House with his wife while he was training troops at Chiriaco Summit (30 miles east of Indio with a museum in his honor) to ultimately defeat Romel in North Africa during World War 2.
The Desert is home to a handful of Native American tribes, hence all the Indian Casinos throughout the desert area. Entertainment is a big part of the Casinos’ with top musical performers nearly every week at one of the Casinos. Acrisure Arena is the home to the Firebirds Hockey Team which is affiliated with the Seattle Team. Acrisure Arena has many musical performers and other types of entertainment throughout the year.
