Gordy's Place is a newly built house just off Sand Point Road, about 9 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. Our family visited Acadia for 20 years and purchased this brand-new (2016) home. Newly added for summer 2024 are mini-split heat pumps for cooling throughout our home! We hope you love it - and Acadia - as much as we do!

Stayed Oct 4, 2025Gordy's place was the best experience we've had with Vrbo or any short term rental. Clearly owned and run by people who love the surrounding area and want to share that with their guests. The house is warm, inviting, and immaculately kept (and the vinyl collection is top notch!) The hosts are responsive, thorough , and so friendly. The location is stellar for what we wanted; a quiet getaway with our little one that was close to Bar Harbor and the park. Worth mentioning that our favorite two meals for the week we stayed were at the lobster pound across the street and Sweet Pea farms a little up the road.

Stayed Sep 28, 2024This is the best VRBO in Bar Harbor. The house has everything that you could ever need for a trip to Bar Harbor. It is like home away from home. The house is in a very quiet section outside of the downtown. But it is easy access to the main HWY.

Stayed Sep 7, 2024Great location just for a few minutes. Howes had Bar Harbor. Spent days riding bikes in a Acadia national Park through the 50+ miles of trails. Dinners mostly consisted of lobster rolls at a nearby roadside restaurant. We got them to go so we could eat them in Gordy’s beautiful home. Enjoyed sitting outside in the hammock, staring at the trees, relaxing in the afternoons.Gordy‘s place is very quiet and peaceful, so relaxing. This was our second time staying here. We were back after enjoying staying here for a week in 2021. Really like this house and a national park. Jean is a good host and checked in on us, but we had everything we needed.

The owners respond quickly to any questions you may have and want to make sure you have the best experience in their home. My family has been vacationing in Acadia for over 20 years and this home was the most welcoming. Highly recommend this rental!

Stayed Jul 13, 2024Jean and her family thought of everything. From extra toiletries to a bottle of wine to the printer, this home had more than we could have hoped for to make our stay comfortable. The thoughtfulness extended to detailed write ups of the many restaurants and activities in the Bar Harbor area, tupperware and coolers and ice packs for our trip to Acadia, and many unique touches throughout the home. We felt very fortunate to be there. It's a trip we will not forget!

Stayed Jun 15, 2024Great location just a few minutes outside of Bar Harbor. Spent days exploring the park - hiking, sunrise, paddle boarding, sailing trip, exploring MDI. Dinners eating out in Bar Harbor or grilling in backyard. Evening camp fires with smores was favorite kid activity. House had everything we needed and host was very responsive with any questions. We look forward to a return trip in the future.

Stayed May 25, 2024We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Gordy's Place. The location was perfect for our family -- close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and yet a little off in its own space. Very comfortable, extremely well maintained and cared for, well stocked, and well labeled. Anything we could imagine we needed we were able to find easily. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
